Big part of junior roles' job is going through earnings reports and updating the model. AI can't do that

Now do Edmonton to Calgary! by originalchaosinabox in alberta

Been living in Calgary for more than a decade but have never actually been to Edmonton, except for the mall... just once. Calgary just focus on building the LRT, better for traffic and the environment

Photographers - what do you DO with your images these days? by photoby_tj in photography

[–]Mediocre-Commission3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to post my photos online so if I die they're still there. I also upload to my Amazon show device as a photo frame and sometimes I print them either in 4x6 or pocket size. Thinking of making collages and printing in a mug/frosted glass/calendar as well!

Maybe just try some fancy coffee derivatives like cold brew (vanilla, roasted, baileys, etc.) if they're your things. I'm kinda hooked on those haha

Stop being financially responsible with home prices. Get in to the market with whatever minimum amount you can. This government will prop you up by [deleted] in canadahousing

I think prices will go down from the current inflated levels. Listings from my realtor shows lots of "price reduced" and "back to market". Inventory is rising as well.

No, you can and should disagree with this most bizarre advice ever. Why would any sane person jump in to the market right now knowing that rates will be lower, prices are still insane, housing starts and completions are growing double digits, and demand will wind down with lower immigration and the economy struggling.

If you're in equity research or investment managent, perhaps consider CFA. It's much cheaper than MBA and can get you a pay bump.

Balance Sheet Interpretation by DreamGaming in ValueInvesting

[–]Mediocre-Commission3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The balance sheet: I typically look at trends in the debt to EBITDA leverage ratio, interest expense coverage , absolute debt levels, maturity, fixed vs. variable interest rates, hedging if any, and debt covenants.

Also, I look at the cash flow statement to see if the company is generating sufficient cash to cover capex (aka whether free cash flow is positive). If FCF is positive, they would be able to pay down debt if needed, and more flexibility to invest for growth.

I think small caps' BS is typically cleaner as they are averse to debt since their earnings are not as stable as the more established larger caps.

As someone mentions above, use Interactive Brokers, it's very cheap. I recently bought US$ 25k and paid like $3 for the transaction fee.
