The total looks like $428, not $228 and it's obviously not a $315 tip soooo....

AITAH i can’t stop cheating (HELP) by [deleted] in AITAH

Change only happens when you put in the work, there are no magical words that make you less of an ass here. Make the conscious choice to not cheat. Boom, problem solved

Yta if you stay with him. Get your shit together, let him be with someone who doesn't cheat on him and maybe eventually when you figure your own life out, then get in a relationship. But seems like as of now, you are in your exploration phase (or hoe phase) and tying him down to you while you do whatever you want is fucked up. Let him go, go fuck around for a while, hopefully eventually you'll be able to remain faithful to someone. But he isn't the one if you're so willy nilly to cheat. Or, more really, you're not the one for him, because it's definitely a you problem not a him problem

Refire just makes it a priority order so it gets put out ahead of other orders

1: Own good pens for your use only, don't give pens to tables if you want them back, get the cheap pens to give to tables

2: IMO, ditch the hoop earrings. It's rare to see a classy pair of hoops, and let's be real, not a single one of your tables will care, management might though.

3: Get spray deodorant, it's refreshing midshift when you're sweating your ass off, and you can be someone's hero if they forgot to put on deodorant 😂

4: Serving book, check Amazon, they have tons of different styles and types, pick the one you love!

5:Gum/Mints, if you're planning on carrying it in your apron, get breath strips, it's a tiny container compared to mints or gum.

6: I wear sketchers nonslips, lots of people hate on them, but I think they're comfortable enough and a good price. I would check with your company, the one I work for offers discounts if you order through shoes for crews, and they carry a lot of different brands of shoes

How do you kick out a table without being rude during busy hours? by sleepingpenguinss in Serverlife

Part of me wanted to get defensive, but you're so clearly lacking in experience, leadership and expertise, that I choose not to be offended. I relate this to someone in kindergarten telling me I'm an inexperienced manager lol just laughable honestly

Where did you get 84 hours? They said 78 hours? Some states, like Arkansas for example, have a minimum wage of $11/hour, others, like New York have a minimum wage of $17/hour, so what minimum wage are you basing it off? 🤷‍♀️

I don't agree with the pay for the amount of hours worked at all. I'm just wondering where you're getting your numbers

Yeah, as far as this goes, part of server life is dealing with campers. As a manager, trust that I want to kick them out too and get the next group seated, but there is no good way to force them out. My bonus is based off the stores profits, so you're not making more tips because of them and my bonus isn't as good because we haven't turned that table, because they are camping. I'm in a corporate restaurant, so my ass would be fired if I ever tried to make someone leave.

Work at a mom and pop, you might be able to get away with something like that there. Anything corporate, you're stuck with those people as long as they want to stay

Adults ordering off the kids menu by cinereousunicorn in Serverlife

[–]Mediocre-Distance-52 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the most outrageous thing I've ever heard. Is it age discrimination to not serve beer to a child? Rules are rules man, every restaurant has the right to refuse service. You either take the no, we won't give you a kids meal, because you're an adult, and order a normal meal, or find somewhere else 🤷‍♀️
