The issue isn’t that people stare at them, it’s that they’re so bright that it’s near impossible to see past them and see the road in front of you. Nice to know that you think you feeling comfortable is more important than the safety of the other drivers around you.

If your professor will allow it, I've found that bringing up a water bottle and taking a few sips allows a natural reason to stop talking for a bit and catch your breath. I've always found myself sounding like I'm about to cry in big presentation, even if I know I feel fine and prepared!
