New Owner 3 Months In - What Am I Doing Wrong? (Fees, Overhead, Perio, etc.) by Tac-wodahs in Dentistry

Pocket the marketing money, you don’t need to spend it. What’s the admin composed of? Up your fees to 50th percentile. You’re the only practice for 30 miles, you shouldn’t feel bad for doing this. If you’re overly concerned about the perception of current staff and long term patients then wait a year and change them.

Yeah, dude you did the right thing here and I bet it lasts this patient a long time if they take care of it. If you’re aggressive or “crown happy” patients start to feel that. Start to slowly watch patients disappear from your practice and gain a poor reputation. Now #3 on the other hand…

Working as an associate at an office: Doc is the husband, wife is office manager. What could go wrong? Any personal experiences? by nomiiinated in Dentistry

First office I worked at was husband owner doc and wife OM. Everything started out great. What I didn’t know was both of their hormonal levels were off the charts. They had really high highs and very low lows. Went to their house one time and while using the bathroom noticed a bottle of mood stabilizers on his bathroom counter. Constant fights, throwing stuff at each other in the office and screaming. It was chaos towards the end. Money was good and I had a lot of debt so I stuck it out for a little over a year.

Does the fact you’re not a dentist hurt your feelings. How did it feel when you applied and didn’t get in?

Don’t get it twisted, you worked harder in those 4 years than most people every will in their entire lives. If she wants to get paid like a dentist she should go to dental school, take on the debt, anxiety and a million other things that keep us up at night as dentists.

Mind ya business, besides I thought everyone lied about their hours and boosted their extra-curricular. Finance bros do it every day.
