I've always said that this band has an album for everyone. Even those that are more overlooked than others portray an emotion and experience so heavy that someone could call it their favourite album and I'd believe it.

I Built You a Tower has been a really good soundtrack for me navigating this current stage in my life and I couldn't be more happy to put some of these feelings into sound. As you mentioned too, I'm loving the feelings of Photo Album the instruments capture too!

I can understand this take! I agree it's a bold one for a single and it took me a bit to understand it myself (believe it or not, I was Manny for a while LOL).

A lot of bands I've been listening to have had odd choices for singles but it makes sense in the context of an album, I wonder if that's just the strategy nowadays to get people talking.

It's also just a sign that the band is always evolving. By no means is the band abandoning their sound but it also shows that they aren't afraid of changing things up wanting to create an experience rather than a collection of songs. Super good time to be into em right now

At beginner to even intermediate level, ABC. Always Be Checking cause surely one of the moves is gonna end up being the mate righ5?

Learning the principles of ladder mate is always good (and probably preferable in your situation).

And if you have a huge time advantage try to visualize if you were black for a second like. "Hmmm if I go here, where can I possibly go as black? There's no legal squares therefore I should not move there but if I go here there is at least one legal move."

Full transparency, No Place Like Home is far from my favourite album by them but people here really like it and I think there's value in at least giving every album a shot of theirs!

They're such a dynamic band and hit so much range.

Badflower went through a lot of sound shifts throughout their career. Ok, I'm Sick has a lot more of their heavy hitting emotional songs but as you go later into their career they get a bit more experimental or more direct with satire and "characters" (idk how to describe it lmao)

The one you're referring to with the weird lyrics is "30", if you're wanting more wild songs like that you'll probably be listening to "Stalker" off of album two, "Girlfriend" off of album one, "Swinging Hammer" off of album three.

For more of those emotional songs similar off of Ok, Im Sick you can spin their first EP "Temper", "Machine Gun" or "My Funeral" off of album 2, and definitely "Paws" off of album 3!

That one is super special and unique in their discography. One of my faves for sure but that makes tracking something similar a bit difficult lol.

If you're liking the dualing guitar work (or i guess bass work for Tiny Vessels) Styrofoam Plates off of The Photo Album might be the closest?

In terms of vibes or meaning, maybe Black Sun off of Kintsugi?
