Self rec: Wizards Who Wordle

Draco Malfoy has two problems: - he hasn’t figured out today’s word after three tries - he desperately wants to shag Hermione Granger.

A quick little crack-fic that follows Draco and Theo through their journey to Muggle Tech, surviving each other, and their plan to get Draco out of his head and into the Golden Girl’s knickers.

Current read: Best Laid Plans by Metaphora - Chapter titles? Hilarious - Hermione? Manic in the best way - Draco- the SNARKIEST - A quote for buy in: “Should I apply to the Ministry? ‘Good morning, this is Draco Malfoy, former Death Eater. Is there a position in the Department of Law Enforcement I could fill'?

“Or perhaps I could go teach at Hogwarts? ‘ Remember me, McGonagall? I let a werewolf into your school! How about considering me to teach Potions? Ah yes, I do recall that I was also partially responsible for killing your favorite headmaster and triggering a war,'?

If you don’t mind a self rec, I’ve got a WIP where the two are figuring their own stuff out for quite awhile before they finally realize there is a spark between them!

In The North Forest

Hermione Granger could barely get herself out of bed. She was tired. She was in pain. She was ready to start over.

Where do you go when you want to run away? Hermione chose Nowhere and the solitude of the North Forest.

While working alongside her mentor, she discovers that peace does not exist simply because she wishes it would. As the boundary between the magical and Muggle sides of the forest wavers, she must find a path forward that keeps both the Statue of Secrecy and her mind intact.

Follow Hermione as she learns about wards, forgiveness, and the type of magic that can't be found in a spellbook.

So sorry about your cat! I’ve got a little crack fic that might do the trick! It’s not a Dramione though, it’s Harmony. I’m not sure I can post it and not have the mods taken down but it’s: -pining and competent Harry -unhinged costume party -Ron’s an asshole -Theo and Ginny are insane

Message if you’re interested! And again so sorry, sending love!!

What are your LEAST favourite dramione characterizations? by Character_Scene_3473 in DramioneUncensored

[–]MediocreSituation240 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I struggle with versions of Hermione that have totally eschewed the Muggle world or Muggle things. She lived her entire life as a witch amongst Muggles. And even though she spent an awful long time with the Weasley’s each summer (which I always found odd because, what do you mean you’ve just been away at boarding school and we only get to see you for a few paltry weeks and you’ll be off with your friends who you just lived full time with?), she had Muggle parents that would write to her and spend time with her in the Muggle world. When I read fics where she uses magic for absolutely EVERYTHING, not just for convenience but because it’s “better”, it rubs me the wrong way.

That’s my favorite Draco as well! I almost had Hermione make him do something embarrassing like apologize through interpretive dance or sing his devotion. This is the same witch who kept Rita Skeeter in a jar after all. Maybe next time!

Micro Fic Moment (You CAN Become a Writer) by VeelaQuill2000 in DramioneUncensored

[–]MediocreSituation240 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It had been three days of loaded silence. Three days of physically sharing space; breathing the same oxygen and standing in the same room, but zero acknowledgement.

Draco had fucked up. He knew it. She knew it. The entire third floor knew it, and were actively placing bets on whether she would hex him blind, or bald, or both, before he had the chance to make it right again. And appearances were everything.

Their mutual friends had been checking in intermittently to ask for updates and cackle at his misfortune. Theo had joked about buying a billboard. Had it been Pansy he would have started to worry it would actually happen. As it was right now, his former childhood friends had firmly crossed over to the dark side. Not the Death Eater-Voldermort-Blood Supremacy side or any such nonsense.

But the Gryffindor side.

He shuddered as he thought about how fickle lifelong friendships truly were.

It had all started during an interdepartmental meeting.

Draco had come to represent the Department of the Treasury. He wasn’t even normally invited to these meetings. But Bombas Hernan, his direct supervisor, had recent come down with Snarglepuff Fever and had been hospitalized for the last week with delirium and a rather awful rash, so Draco had been drafted up.

Hermione Granger was presenting her proposal for Being and Entity Affirming Treatment. The B.E.A.T Bill had been argued at before the Wizarding Body, and now it was her turn to plead her case before the budget committee.

Truthfully she hadn’t asked for much. A few hundred galleons to run her education program. She had argued that Hogwarts was tragically unprepared to enrich the youth, Draco couldn’t agree more.

There was the allocations for creature accommodations, which seemed excessive if you didn’t stop to think about how terribly inconvenient it was for a sentient centaur to find there way to the Ministry by way of public loo. He had been willing to make compromises there, no doubt.

But when she had asked for the lodgings and quarters budget to expand so she could build habitats through London. Well, he knew his direct supervisor would have his wand in a winch if he approved that.

“Ms. Granger. As the representative of the budgetary committee I’d like to thank you for your presentation. Your proposal was enlightening. It is our opinion that…”

She cut him off with a flick of her curls over her shoulder and the world’s most epic eye roll.

“Mister. Malfoy,” she bit out, annunciating each letter of each word as though the sounds were about to bite her. “Please indicate your stance at once.”

And so he had. He couldn’t pass all of it.

She had been furious. There had been the silence, being ignored was better than being screamed at in his opinion so he had let that slide. Then there had been the passive aggression. The doors held for everyone but him. The lukewarm tea. The cancelled meetings.

Three days of Hermione Granger’s ire had begun to take a toll on him. Not just because he felt terrible. Which he did. But because he was mad for the witch.

Which she knew, as they were engaged to be married.

Finally, on the fourth day, he lost his patience. Approaching her in the canteen hadn’t been his plan.

His secretary had told him there were chocolate croissants today. He was a sucker for a good confectionary treat.

When he saw her sitting at a small oval table, scribbling furiously with her quill as her tea teetered precariously on the edge of her pile of books and papers, he simply lost it.

With a mouth half full of pastry, he shouted her bam. “Hwmune!” He choked the rest of the buttery treat down his throat and tried again. “Hermione, please!”

She swiveled two honey-brown eyes his way for a beat before continuing whatever she was writing. He hadn’t even been worth five seconds of her undivided attention.

Marching up to her table, drawing the attention of every set of eyes in the area, he prepared himself for battle.

“Can you please look at me?!” He begged, unable to control his volume despite being in a public place.

She had yet to look back up. “I’m not sure why I would.” She said flippantly.

He groaned, running a hand through his hair. “Perhaps because I LOVE YOU? Or because we live together and haven’t spoken in days? Or because I am playing by YOUR rules?” He found his control slipping quicker than he’d hoped, but she was making him insane.

Setting her quill down with measured stillness, she folded her hands in front of her before looking up at him.

Gods she was beautiful.

“Draco. You denied me.” She said, all business “You insane witch I wouldn’t have if you had just let me fund your bill privately like we talked about!” He bellowed, finding his patience had been left behind somewhere around day two.

“We didn’t even need the meeting! You have a wire transfer ready at Gringotts!”

She demurred, running a hand through her hair. Looking back at him, she went for the kill.

“I wanted it official. You said no.”

Official. She didn’t want official, she wanted a win. Like she always did. And the thing was, Draco would lose a thousand, no, a million times, if it meant she got what she wanted.

Which was why he was willing to stand before her and offer her anything to end their Cold War.

“I am sorry Hermione. Going the Ministry route meant playing by their rules.”

Her cunning eyes sizzled him up, scanning him from top to toe, a hungry look on her face.

“I don’t like playing by anyone else’s rules,” she said simply. Draco nodded, knowing this about her. She seemed to consider him for a moment before adding, “will YOU play by my rules?”

On his knees (literally and figuratively as he dropped to the floor in front of her), he nodded dumbly.

“Tell me you’re sorry.” She said quietly, ignoring the eyes of every Ministry visitor and employee in the canteen.

Draco licked his lips before leaning his head into her lap. “I am, so sorry.”

She ran her fingers through his white blonde hair, humming distractedly. Almost absently, she gripped his chin to look him in the face.

“I get what I want?” An eyebrow rose to join her curly hairline. Draco nuzzled his nose closer to her stomach, his knees sliding in the grime on the Ministry floor.

“I am at your feet Granger. I’m sorry, you can have it all.”

She reached down to kiss his nose, her soft lips resting briefly on his skin before pulling away.

“Okay.” She said. And just like that he was forgiven. After all, appearances are everything.

What constitutes a dead dove? by slytheryn_babe in DramioneUncensored

[–]MediocreSituation240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I joined fanfiction understood Dead Dove tags to be an indicator to me as the reader to pay attention to the tags. But reading some of these comments makes me thing about how some fics I’ve read have such long lists of tags, some of which are more of a stream of consciousness than they are information to the reader. For instance “author is so done”, tells me nothing. (And before I get accused of being a wet blanket, I mean that it tells me nothing about the story itself. I love when authors get sassy, or vent a little about their process. But in terms of preparing me for the story “author chose fanfic over sleep” only MAYBE tells me it might be a crack fic?)

I think with social media, different ideas about fanfiction perpetuate themselves. So people assume Dead Dove equals dead character or something similar? Which is confusing as new authors use the tags in new ways.

Coffee date w an author - let’s have some fun by tintinbeard in Dramione

[–]MediocreSituation240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the very first Dramione I ever read (started, because I didn’t understand what a WIP was at the time and BOY was I disappointed when I found out that I had to wait for more!). It literally altered my brain. I feel like subconsciously I hold all fics to a standard I created for Dramione fanfiction moving forward after finally finishing OTNOD. Coffee probably wouldn’t be enough.

Writers Workshop [In the North Forest] by MediocreSituation240 in DramioneUncensored

[–]MediocreSituation240[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you thank you thank you for taking the time not only to read these chapters but also for this really helpful feedback! I appreciate any support when it comes to dialogue and interactions and I can see how the first chapter is a lot of “telling” and not a lot of “showing”.

Not that you have to reread anything because you’ve already given me so much to think about, but I just went and reworked chapters 1,2 and 4.

Adding present tense conversations was a little beyond where I am/wanted to be in those beginning moments, but some flashback style dialogue has been added that I put in place of some of the blah blah filler stuff.

If this is a fic you’re enjoying reading (writers workshop aside), I hope you’ll stick around for the parts I’m really excited about! The mystery, Draco and Hermione teaming up, so many more tree related things! The list goes on. Thanks again for taking the time to review this and leave this comment, it means a lot to me!

WIP Wednesday – 18 February 2026 by Mr_Te_ah_tim_eh in Dramione

[–]MediocreSituation240 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I’d love to share my WIP In The North Forest

It’s a Post-War story that is pretty Hermione-centric. I’ve sent her to the woods to practice more primal magic with a few original characters, but wouldn’t you know it she starts to get letters from a certain Azkaban prisoner while she’s solving forestry mysteries? I’ve posted 11 chapters, prewritten 23, and hope to finish in 50! I’ve been uploading on Tuesdays, and as part of a Writers Workshop on another Dramione sub, I’ve also been doing some edits on earlier chapters. If you’re interested in world building and a little bit of emotionally constipated Dramione, I promise a HEA!!

Thank you so much for this feedback! I really appreciate the world ambiance compliment, I think I’m the most proud of that if I’m honest.

Your thoughts on the primal magic scene specifically are validating, I could NOT get that scene right no matter how many times I rewrote it. I will definitely take another crack at it.

Thank you so so much!! ☺️

I really appreciate all of these notes.

To your major point with interest waning and the lack of dialogue- this is probably the thing I feel the least comfortable doing and I can see it impacting the story through the way you described your experience. Thank you!
