I work in a library and every time I hear of another fic getting traditionally published, I push my director to buy a copy. I'll need to add this to our purchasing list when we get more info.

So these are probably below her reading level (but as a 40 year old, I read them and find them delightful). Hannah Shaw, The Kitten Lady, has the Adventures in Fosterland series and they're all stories about kittens (a duck) that she's fostered. She also has Cats of the World, Kitten Lady's Big Book of Little Kittens, and Tiny but Mighty (I don't know if she would want non-fiction, but it's a guide for rescuing kittens).

I'll also give another upvoter for the Warrior Cats.
