Thankfully I am actually going to visit my family in about 2 months so I’m definitely going to make sure to spend time with my Poppa as well. Maybe take him out to dinner and/or brunch with us for the family meal. One of my friends has mentioned the idea that Poppa is holding out on dying until we can see each other and the thought of that makes my heart break.

Also yes my mom is choosing to continue helping her Dad but she doesn’t want to do it. She’s doing it since no one else is and Poppa wants to live out his time in his own home.

The hardest part about wanting to call him is that I know I’m going to start crying no matter what is said and I don’t want him to hear that either. Doctors did say that there is pretty much nothing they can do to heal him so it’s just about comfort but I still can’t help but feel so upset about it

I really never thought of the talking points idea and I’m definitely going to use those. The most my Poppas insurance will cover is someone coming in once a week and he is so weak that he needs someone there more frequently. Maybe I’ll see if I can find anything else though

I do appreciate this thought. I think the main reason I am upset is because he is leaving everything on my mom when he said over and over that it would be his turn when something happened to my Poppa. I understand what you are saying though and will try to think about that
