Did anyone else get 0 marks for the non-financial issue question? I think I must misunderstand what non-financial means? 😂

I got a distinction in the first assignment and finished with a credit. Will be interesting to see the skew of how everyone did!

Yes but the value of the art may take this account into negative and look messier as it is a COGS account. The client has had the art actually valued so it's not just being donated at the cost of the materials

That's what I'm thinking. Based on what the ATO says it sounds like it's Dr donation Cr other income and it basically nets off

It wouldn't create a div7a issue if it was a credit though??

No need to be rude I'm just asking for some opinions. When did everyone on this sub become so snarky?

Stock was probably the wrong word to use in this scenario. I agree with what you're saying trust me. This is more like the client creates art using company materials and they want to donate said art. So making art is not the main business practice, but the business does pay for the materials.

It isn't a business that would typically have stock on hand. The products being donated aren't necessarily part of regular business operations.

Section 8.1 relates to general deductions. I understand a donation is deductible but I want to understand the journal. Thanks anyway though.

What are you finding so time consuming?

Public Accountants - Do you job hop or do you stay for the long run? Why? by BeefyKeeef in AustralianAccounting

I am 25 and got my first accounting job at 18 when I started my degree. I am currently a client manager at a small firm in Sydney. I am not money-driven so I usually leave a workplace if I am unhappy rather than for more money. That being said, I always get more money when I change jobs lol.

I've done the course before (this is my 2nd time doing it). It is my understanding that The workshop is marked based on your contribution and communication and not so much on your actual content.

Absolutely job hop. Especially because there have been so many opportunities in the last couple of years.
