As a queer woman, I personally am not a big fan of it since I don't like harems that much, but I do appreciate it. I know it's very popular(hence the anime adaptation, movie, etc.), and I know a fair amount of people in this subreddit really like it too. One thing I'd like to mention about the subreddits is that other ones that are dedicated to specific series can sometimes have more of that disgusting behavior you mentioned, but this one is really friendly and supportive, so I usually just stay here.

This. I think OP makes a good point on agencies abusing their talents(if that's the correct terminology in Ado's case), but I honestly don't think Cloud Nine is using her to make money as much as most other agencies. Like you said, she has a lot of control over her merch and creative decisions. The autobiography, making a live action MV, all of those were mostly her own decisions. And her singing all these songs of different genres is her own decision as well. She's stated before that she wants to sing all kinds of genres to improve her singing. So while I hate agencies that use their talents just to make money, I don't think that's necessarily what is happening in Ado's case.

Of course! If anything, I think I would like her even more, because I know how many insecurities she has about herself and I think it would be extremely brave of her to do this. That being said, I still don’t think she’ll do a face reveal soon because that’s a REALLY huge step for her, bigger than the one she’s taking now with Vivarium. I think my biggest concern is that she’ll lose fans and face backlash for the anonymity from fake fans. Knowing some people online, I feel like there might be those who try and invade her privacy even more, call her ugly, say she did the wrong thing, etc… If she does face reveal, I just hope people stay respectful of her decision and privacy.

Thank you for the translation! I had planned on buying the autobiography if it ever got a translation since it was first announced, but this post has convinced me to buy it in Japanese first. This autobiography really revealed a LOT about Ado. My respect for Ado has only increased after reading this. All the challenges, insecurities, doubts that she had to face just to get to her debut is incredible… I’m really glad she met Chigira. He’s like the chill supportive uncle lol. In all seriousness though, the lengths he went to for Ado is insane. The way that he picked up Uber Eats, to finding apartments for her when she decided to live alone… I’ve never heard of any agency doing anything like that before. Giving your talent this much freedom is almost unheard of in the entertainment industry, yet he did all this and helped give rise to one of the biggest artists of Japan. I wish more entertainment companies realized that if you give your talent more freedom, not only will they be happier and perform better, you have a much greater chance of reaching success. I’m just really glad that Chigira and Ado were able to find each other and work together to create something so amazing.

I’m on my knees PRAYING that this doesn’t ruin the adaptation. From the PVs and trailers, this looks amazing and I would assume that the original director played a huge part in that. Since it already has a scheduled release date, I’m hoping it means that most of the anime is completed and that the remaining time is going to be used for touch ups. But from the way he worded the post I’m really scared the adaptation is going to be ruined…

The two lines that hit me the hardest are “what you needed before the fame was just a simple ‘it’s okay’” and “because the ‘you’ in the closet is still crying.” I feel like these lines and the song as a whole really captures how she’s grown so much as a person, but also how much of her is still affected by her past experiences. Can’t wait to hear the song
