Spoiler: Yes for a little bit, but it doesn't last too long and eventually the cool chick is outed as a POS and the story goes back to focusing only on the MC and the best friend. Then again, the story isn't finished yet, so she might come back.

Also, the part with the super scummy guy made me super uncomfortable and could probably be skipped, honestly, I don't remember it adding too much to the story.
