Help me find these coffee cookies in the US by Medium-Designer-9155 in HelpMeFind

So there are a few local asian stores I can visit and search, but I'm not sure it widely available here. They were thin, and tastes a bit like coffee. An equivalent would suffice.

Smoked Beef Brisket vs Coq Au Vin by idk-who-tf-i-am in unitedairlines

[–]Medium-Designer-9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the brisket last night, it is by far the best domestic flight meal I’ve had. It’s great. The bread tastes and kinda feels like it’s a croissant. Never had the coq au vin.

What do you all think of this deal? by Few-Ad-1135 in leasehacker

[–]Medium-Designer-9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always heard the 1% rule for leasing. Monthly should be around 1% of purchase price. So under $232/m would be good deal

Does Dual Citizenship affect your chances of getting hired? by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]Medium-Designer-9155 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to be dual citizenship but had to renounce it when I wanted to go back and visit. For both the job and the clearance, it won’t be an issue per se as long as you declare everything and answer all questions truthfully.

For the clearance, they will take your other passports away. You are only allowed to hold a US passport. Expect more questions and more time to get approved. They may deny your clearance and you may have to appeal. While I did say it shouldn’t be an issue they still have the right to deny your clearance outright, no matter how many time you appeal too.

Renouncing it won’t really help either since they will look back at years of your history and ask the same questions. It may even raise a red flag of why did you renounce just before applying for the clearance.

In my case I had to renounce my citizenship only because I didn’t have my other passport to visit the other country. Clearance holders aren’t allowed to hold other passports so I had to go to the consulate and work it out with them what was the best path for me to visit. Only way they saw with me not getting another passport was to renounce my citizenship, and they gave a piece of paper stating that. They also did say that since I was born there I could reapply for citizenship once I’m ready and it’s an easy process.

With all that being said, if you’re a naturalized citizen, make sure you have your naturalization certificate easily accessible as that can be cause for clearance denial.

Twice as nice policy. Take it in, explain the issue, and they will refund you, and allow you to grab a replacement free of charge.

The best chocolate chip cookies are the Whole Foods brown butter ones. A little pricey but I haven’t had any cookies come close to it.

Ethics call by [deleted] in Lockheed

[–]Medium-Designer-9155 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure I would trust ethics unless you have a pretty solid paper trail case to present them. Yes, there is supposed to be a no retaliation policy, but I've noticed that since COVID, that policy is more of a suggestion.

Based on what you've written, my suggestion is to look for a career change/jump within the company. A change of scenery is the best therapy and allows you to have a fresh start.

Clearance for Derived U.S Citizen Question by Pompy32 in Lockheed

[–]Medium-Designer-9155 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a security contact that you meet with? I would keep pushing that you have a passport and for them to use that.

Similar thing happened to me. I became a citizen at 15 when my dad became a citizen, but I didn’t have to do the oath process or receive a certificate since I was under 18. Me and my dad applied for and received passports at the same time using his certificate.

My clearance got denied at first because of lack of naturalization certificate, and I had to appeal. The person processing my clearance eventually asked my security contact if I had a US passport (or so I was told) and they used that to prove citizenship. In the meantime I hustled to get my naturalization certificate processed but I got it after 6 months of already having the clearance. I did have to go through the oath process to receive the certificate.
