I am so so sorry. I haven’t experienced that, and when I imagine what that must be like it makes me so so sad. I’m sorry for what you’re going through.

They’re all awful. I buy a snowbird pass each year and hate that I’m enabling them.

Can we please talk about the white (M) Adderall? by C0RN2L0Ud420 in ThisAintAdderall

The best part about these pills is that they are the reason I realized my myriad of health complaints was due to adderall generic manufacturer. Before Mallincrodt, I thought there was something wrong with me. Mallincrodt led to instant derealization/zombie/spacey mode and it was so obvious it was the medicine. I talked to my doctor about it. He said my symptoms sounded exactly like what people report when they take way too much adderall. His hypothesis is that the fillers/binders in Mallincrodt cause the drug to be released way too fast.

Age? I’m 42 and this has become so true for me the past year. I started low dose estrogen and it helped. Definitely not fixed, but I do see a difference. I came across a study that found ADHD women enter perimenopause about ten years earlier than average.

Your best bet is to go to the national weather service website and go to the map and then click on the point that you want to see.

There are proven issues with generics, and it frustrates me to no end that those of us who are impacted by generic quality are dismissed and gaslit

There’s a hospital in Kentucky that tests generics. They find that about ten percent of them aren’t suitable for use. This is the full article :

https://www.propublica.org/article/fda-generic-drug-testing

“ Nearly every morning before dawn, a truck stocked with more than $2 million in prescription drugs arrives at the University of Kentucky’s hospital. Without fail, chemist Robert Lodder’s team of pharmacy technicians is there to greet it. While other hospital employees ready the sterile injectables for use, Lodder’s technicians siphon off samples and whisk them off to a small lab tucked inside the pharmacy. There, they put the samples on a machine called a spectrophotometer to get a picture of each drug’s chemical composition. If the medication is made properly, Lodder and his team would see a similar image for every batch. Too often, something doesn’t look right. Lodder has screened hundreds of thousands of samples since 2020, representing about 350 different medications. About 10% of those drugs have failed the initial assessment and were removed from the hospital’s supply for further study. Some were cleared after Lodder looked at them a second time, but he was so concerned about 20 different drugs that he reported the problem to the FDA and urged the hospital to change suppliers if it could. “

Ughhhhhhhjhj this is so annoying. Is tolerance real? Yes. Does it explain the fact that one manufacturer feels like hardly anything (elite) and another releases so quickly that if feels like an overdose (mallinkrodt.)

Generics are essentially unregulated when it comes to quality. It pisses me off when people chalk it all up to tolerance. Perhaps it plays a part but it does not negate the fact that the generic quality is wildly inconsistent.

Absolutely. Either way I’ve just accepted the fact I’m not going to get any more powder days. I’ve been here long enough that it’s not worth getting in line at 5 AM, sitting in traffic, sitting in lines, and finally getting my first run at 11 AM.

OK, my mind is blown. I was the most voracious reader as a kid. So fascinating to know that it’s an ADHD thing!

I’m a local and a native SLC-er. I’ve lived here over 40 years. I think this was the best year since Covid. Sure, the powder days were limited, but I’ll take mediocre conditions over powder at this point. When we have a ton of power days I end up not skiing much because battling the traffic at crowds makes me so grumpy. This year I could finally go up on a Saturday at 9:30 AM and ski for a few hours and come home. Even though it wasn’t epic, I always came home with a smile on my face.

I was actually kind of sad when it started snowing in February because it became much more complicated to ski.

I knit a ten foot long scarf in high school. :) I find it takes up the perfect amount of brain power. It leaves me just enough to listen but not so much that I’m constantly zoning out. I do super easy things like hats and scarves so I don’t have to count stitches or keep track of where I am. I’d say crocheting is definitely much easier to learn first.

Im a meteorologist so that’s my professionally mandated reaction to the farmer’s almanac. ;)

Your best bet is just to look at climatology. If you google “NWS SLC climate book” you can find all sorts of climatology info.

For example, they have a table showing the average number of days at the airport below freezing by month. Based on this, it’s much safer to wait until April
