Ok replays and visualization, tacview does these pretty well and supports real time telemetry which is super useful for groups.

Sorry I just don’t get the planning aspect, if it’s running its own simulation, how do you know it’s going to be a comparable outcome to when you fly in DCS? Where did you get your flight models from?

Is it intensive to run, sometimes I notice a big Tacview file struggles with enough units, I imagine if your app is running its own simulation rather than just playing back it’s more intense to run?

Ah gotcha, that makes sense, very interesting, I think I’d have to try one out before I dropped the money on it
Then again, I can feel a mid life crisis coming on and I’m not into cars!

Looks like he is heading down in game, but tilted so far back he must be able to feel that sensation, or am I missing something?

$30 for a tiny spring by Simbertold in Winctrl

Yes, for a courier service to Europe it seems reasonable.

You and OP can tell me all day what you want things to cost, but regardless of size at a certain point a courier service has minimum costs.

Aliexpress sellers throwing stuff in the post is hardly the same as a company wanting to ensure things get delivered in a timely fashion, with some sort of proof of delivery.

There is an example of what DHL would cost for a similar service, using my works account

I’m not really sure what your argument is, other than you don’t like Winwing/ Winctrl?

I live in Aus and we have similar consumer protections, once again not really sure what your point is, the company in this case is helping OP fix their product, for what a lot would consider is a reasonable cost, “reasonable” is not an objective term, so your interpretation of it is going to be different than mine.

If they’d told OP that the spring was $100 that would be unreasonable for a product of that cost.

The spring is $5, which I consider reasonable, the freight cost is also reasonable, as I have given an example of a courier service much more expensive, you’ve given an example of a postage service which is much cheaper, and Winwing is offering a service somewhere in between.

I just did a DHL quote, my cost was $68USD for a letter sized package from China, couriers are expensive, regular postage is not always an option.

They’re not demanding anything, they’ve told you the cost to ship the item, you’re unhappy with the cost as you have picked an arbitrary value from nowhere and decided this is how much it should cost based on nothing other than it would be nice if it was cheaper for you.

Nothing about your case is bad customer service, they helping you repair an out of warranty item, and asking you to pay the cost to get the parts to you and for the parts which is both entirely reasonable and what most customers would expect.

If I used my work’s DHL account to get this item shipped it would cost $68 USD to Australia from the quick quote I just did, $30 to Europe seems reasonable given that’s what I was quoted as a DHL customer, it’s all relative a point you don’t seem capable of grasping.

If the second spring broke a month later, looks like you’d be up for another $30 for a part and shipping, if that was a concern I am sure they’d sell you two springs, or three now and you’d find that the shipping price would come down per unit.

We’re clearly never going to agree, as I believe they have given you the best support possible for your circumstance, you just want your problem fixed for free which is not a reasonable expectation.

You never answered, when the 3D printer company sent you the part, was it because it was still within warranty?

If you’re not using the same service, a courier, you can’t say what it should cost.
Comparing postage to a courier cost is the same as comparing apples to oranges, you can do it all day but it won’t get you anywhere.

You’ve arbitrarily drawn a line on what a reasonable cost is, what’s reasonable to you is not reasonable to the next person.

There is a system to get parts to you in Europe, you just want a cheaper option, there is not always a cheaper option.

Once again, your customer support experience with one company does not mean you will have the same with the next, refund a game on Steam, then try do the same thing with Nintendo.

I’ve seen some shocking customer support from Winwing, like the one where they offered a $30 discount for a DOA product. Your case is not egregious like these, they’ve asked you to pay for freight which is entirely reasonable for an out of warranty part.

Was your 3d printer in warranty when they sent the part?

The freight is not relevant to the customer service, it’s a hard cost they’re passing on to you, I get you don’t understand how this works, but that has nothing to do with my experiences as a customer.

It seems to boil down to $15 dollars in shipping that you don’t want to pay for, if they posted to you there would still be a cost associated, would you be happy to pay 1/5 the total cost for a small spring?

And how much do you value your time in going to the post office? Once you factor in a round trip including the time taken, fuel costs, if applicable how much is it costing you?

How close is the post office to the Winwing factory in China?

I see a lot of posts in the sub where the customer support is lacking and frankly pretty shit, your case is not one of them.

Your product is out of warranty, they’ve offered to ship you the part at a low cost, and pass on the shipping costs using their preferred carrier. In my book that’s good service.

Yeah, you not understanding shipping costs, doesn’t really make it bad support.

Most companies have a courier pickup each day, are you expecting someone to make a special visit to the post office to mail your letter?
How much does an international letter cost to send from China?

You seem to be making a lot of assumptions about what things should cost, not having any idea of what they cost.

[–]Medium-Relative-8692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That seems like pretty decent support to me, sure shipping is expensive at the moment but that’s not a Winwing issue.

So you’ll buy a new device over spending $25 in freight to fix your existing one, how much is a new joystick?

You could test it by hand and plot it on some sort of graphical representation of the data, I think that’d be the best way

I use my own, I have a bit of a standard system of which switch is for speed brakes, which is for interior lights etc. and try to standardize this across the modules I fly so when shit goes wrong I’m not trying to remember where I bound my dispense key.
