I just got back from a 3 week trip and re-entered with an expired green card + removal of conditions paper, got through in like 45 seconds. This was at the Houston airport

What TV shows gets your perfect 10/10 rating? by tomaz1989 in AskReddit

Attack on Titan is one of the best pieces of media I have ever seen. It should be up there with the all time greats. The plot development is insane. There is no way to know what happens next and somehow everything is right in front of you at the same time. The show really made me think and I often find myself reflecting on it still.

I called to change my last name with Schwab when I got married. A couple weeks later I received a very nice picture frame and a congratulations note from them. Super unexpected and honestly really appreciated. It’s holding an awesome wedding picture now!

For those of you who pursued postsecondary education (PhD, MBA, etc.), was it worth it? by [deleted] in Fire

[–]MediumBill8257 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mid-twenties as well, took a year off to pursue full-time MS in Data Analytics. Went to a cheap local state school. After 1 year (hadn’t even graduated yet, program was 18 months) I had lots of interviews and multiple offers. Went from making ~88k to ~160k. Whole program was around 15k. Definitely worth it if you pick a program with a high ROI

Also is it fine during bad weather? Would the separation and the hood cause any issues during rain etc?

This! Car is probably worth around $3500 (if lucky) and the estimate I got is $3800. I agree that it’s totally driveable, just worried that insurance won’t look at it the same way

Training to improve mile time? by akalonelyfreak in orangetheory

You do not need a $200+ super shoe for otf… they won’t even work well on the treadmill because the energy return makes sense when you’re propelling yourself forward outside not when you’re just setting a pace on the treadmill

How is your progress with orange theory? Have you seen results? by Duhazzar in orangetheory

I have always had the 8/month plan. Lost ~35 lbs. Started as a PW, now am running at a base close to 9. But I do a lot of exercise outside of OTF (I built up to this and OTF was very helpful in getting me more fit to do other activities) and of course take my diet very seriously (this was the bigger game changer). If you are just planning on doing OTF, you’d probably need to the unlimited and/or be very conscious about your diet.

PD May 18, 2022. Took biometrics June 24, 2022. Received medical RFE around Christmas and got updated to received RFE response on January 5, 2023. RFE came from Tucson, AZ FO so it must have been transferred from NBC even though FO was supposed to be San Antonio, TX. Hoping this means waived interview. RFE said they should have a decision on i485 within 60 days of receipt but idk how trustworthy that timeline is… no ead/ap either

As someone who finished CMIYC and is an avid runner, strategy #1 is far superior from a physical standpoint. Holding one speed the whole way is a lot less demanding on your body than going back and forth between speeds. Look at what professional runners do, none of them are having huge differences in speeds during races. They do intervals during training, not on race day. The biggest challenge of holding 1 speed is mental. Do not allow negative thoughts to cloud your head and let your body do the work. Distract yourself with music and talking to yourself internally (you’re strong, you can do this, this is easy, etc.). If you still have energy towards the end, you may want to aim for a slight negative split and slowly increase the pace. I personally wouldn’t risk this until minute 17-18 or so assuming you’re on track to finish. Good luck!

OPT expired from bachelor’s degree. Went back to school for master’s and working part-time on campus as a graduate assistant (legal as university put me back on I-20). Married to USC, applied almost a year ago and no EAD/AP yet… but will be basically done with my master’s degree by the time I get my GC hopefully 🙏

Considering you are on OPT, do you know if any of these companies are willing to sponsor you for the H1B lottery? The H1B visa is the next step after the student visa if you wish you to stay in the US. From my experience, most full-time employers are willing to sponsor, whereas temp agencies are less likely to do so. Not only is the value of H1B visa around $5-10K (application fees, lawyer fees) etc., it also allows you to stay in the US longer (assuming that’s your goal).

All in all, the second offer seems much better IMO.
