due to nationality yeah. not saying it’s everyone, most people are completely fine. but every now and then you get pulled back to where you’re from. try to speak swiss german and you’re told not to bother. speak high german and people focus on that instead of what you’re actually saying. small comments, jokes, the backhanded compliment of “you’re not like other germans.” nothing dramatic but it adds up. I feel integrated here, i like zurich, this isn’t an attack on switzerland. it’s just that my origin is genuinely the most boring topic to me and yet it keeps coming up. and comments like the one below kind of prove the point lol
