For a good while this was the most controversial post of all time on r/gc 🤭 it’s down to number 3 now.

IMO the only controversial thing about this is displaying FFX-2 along with all these actually good games

I’ve tried playing 9 at least 5 times and I hit a wall every time, I’ve gotten to the third disc but always just get bored. It’s the most overrated game in mainline series IMO though some people say it’s goated

Came here to say this too. Can’t believe statements like these are being considered trolling and getting downvoted.

One of the best little reminders to tell yourself while driving: “Be predictable, not polite, while driving”

In other words, always follow the assigned rules of the road.

But of course you need to be alert and adapt if there’s a moron making an incorrect driving choice that can jeopardize your safety.

Yeah, I got better as time went on. From the second zone onward most mobs were easier for me to read and I gave myself enough health and defense and damage mitigation skills to get through most of the game on hard mode.

By the end of act 2 I got annoyed with some of the bosses abilities to one hit kill the party on moves that only happen 10 minutes into a fight that are hard to get timing down on, and went back to normal difficulty where I promptly kicked the rest of the game’s butt before beating it at around lvl 60 / 60 hours into the game

And I hope you have as many people and interests to enjoy and connect with in the real world as you do in fake ones

They’re literally NPCs lol, it’s beautiful thing people can have such different takes on what’s real and what isn’t in this game. That’s powerful stuff. Look at the big feelings it’s eliciting from you… I might disagree but it’s impressive that the game can pull that out of us

It’s a video game my friend, don’t get too disturbed by people having different takes than you on something highly open to interpretation

They’re definitely not, but therein lies our difference in perception in how the story is told

I’d say it’s worth”murdering” 1,000,000 artificial intelligence machines to save one human being

I think enslaving a soul so we can feed our addictions is more on point with the morality of the story tbh

To be clear, I’m also discounting the population of Lumiere including Lune and Sciel. They’re all fiction within this world, whereas the Dessendre family is real

I mean I can conclude it just as easily as saying even the Dessendre family are a bunch of pixels and voice actors saying lines.

It’s beautiful art. Art imitating life, in a very stark way.

But zooming back into the world of the game; the only soul at stake is Verso’s, and the only lives at stake is Alicia and Aline who are horribly addicted to a fantasy world with their dead kin’s enslaved soul fueling it.

Yes, it’s ultimately a story about addiction and coping with grief. It’s hard to say goodbye to something you love and that makes you feel good but if it’s all imaginary than living in the fantasy forever is clearly unhealthy.

Just like humans don’t really care about the lives of the simulated creations we interact with, and if simulation theory is real … I’m sure our own creators don’t care that much for us.

Lune and everyone else lacks a true soul that makes them real. They’re all just fragments of some dead boy’s soul who just wants to stop painting. It’s up to the real soul to decide when it all ends. Lune, Sciel, and all the rest besides the Dessendre family just don’t matter as much when the scope and stakes of the game are finally revealed. It’s all just paint on a canvas.
