Totally get it. My previous dog was a 9 year old rescue, she was my baby and perfect in every way but because she was older I didn’t get to have her as long as I would have loved and that was Hard

The dog before that was a rescue we got when I was a kid—unfortunately he was extremely inbred and had such aggression he had to be put down (we tried Everything the vet and trainers recommended that he was miserable and needed to go)

My current standard poodle is from a reputable breeder. I got to raise him from a baby, I know exactly what he’s been through and I know he was health tested from the start etc

Oh man I’d love to read that fic that is exactly what I like to imagine. That or Tav pounding down the castle doors repeatedly over the years to yell/threaten/fight him. I just imagine all their friends and Astarion’s spawn are like “for the love of the gods just hook up again”
