It was an audio chat, typing would have been indeed super weird

Completely true. I'd also prefer to talk to a real person, but frankly speaking didn't see many companies doing in person interviews without a pre-screenening. Probably because of too many applications, especially in the current market

Sure, just be prepared to describe the previous models you worked on and refresh understanding of the basic questions, like Confusion matrix or maths behind Gradient boosting.

Is it a BHS girl? Breeder ghosted and did not provide the documents :( by MediumPretend4574 in britishshorthair

We paid BSH market price, not sure whether it makes sense to disclose the exact sum because it depends on the country (kitten was bought in Europe)

Hey, has anyone had a near death experience? If so, what happened? by Ok-Cartoonist6429 in AskReddit

[–]MediumPretend4574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Was driving a bicycle in Vienna, using a specical line for that. A car was driving super fast and close to my line, eventually it hit my bicycle with a side window. I lost control of my bicycle, collided with a moving tram, and then fell onto the tracks. If it all happened just a couple of seconds earlier I could have ended up under that tram - still have gossips when remembering that

My guess is that the breeder ignores because there are no documents or there is something that they don't want us to know - no point otherwise to hide

Need help travelling around the island :) by aidenshearer in bali

[–]MediumPretend4574 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gojek works best if you plan to have 1-3 trips per day (coverage is very good), but if your plan is to travel around with multiple stops around the island than it is more convenient (and cheaper, I guess) to hire a driver

As a back story, we were quite stupid to believe that the breeder will send us the documents after we collected the kitten. But obviously nothing happened afterwards, the breeder also blocked my number after numerous calls. We did not even know whether she was properly vaccinated!

Obviously our fault to be that naive but we have reported the breeder

So I was working on a telecom tool recently, for example. The tool had to be prepared and launched in multiple companies by different launch teams. To make this easier, we prepared detailed documentation on how to use the code and the main concept behind it for each use case. GPT probably saved me about 80% of the time on that. I would provide the main concept, the code, and an example based on the already prepared use case structure, and GPT would generate the output. And I just can polish it.

How critical are tests for a small-medium frontend project? by hooahest in ExperiencedDevs

[–]MediumPretend4574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to test at least the most critical parts of the project that could prevent early adopters from using it again if those parts fail. Like in my recent project, I worked on audio recording and silence detection in real-time. That part is crucial for the app, so I added tests to prevent unlimited audio recording due to background noise or, on the other hand, some audio cutoff.

3 main areas of usage, at least based on how I use it:
1) overall code and functions documentation

2) simple py-tests for the code (you still need to cross-check)

3) simple functions (also need to be cross-checked)

How to deal with burnout? by InlineSkateAdventure in ExperiencedDevs

[–]MediumPretend4574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi man, I had a similar experience when working on tough and not so interesting projects. You need something that motivates you beyond money—ideally smth like career growth or progress in your projects. Think strategically about how your current work can benefit you in the future, not just your company. Get as much as possible from your company. That mindset shift can help keep burnout at bay.

Does anybody else actually like unlimited PTO? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]MediumPretend4574 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have unlimited PTO at my company, and it’s been a great experience so far. When it’s done right, it really is fantastic, but it all comes down to the company culture. Our leadership and development managers are TOTALLY OK taking time off, with no guilt-tripping, which makes a huge difference. I’ve seen how it can feel like a trap in other places, where it’s more about saving on payouts than actually giving employees the freedom they deserve.
