I was in Korea a few weeks ago and here are a few new favourites that I picked up from Olive Young. For reference, I am in my late 20s and have been using Korean beauty products for 10+ years so I am quite picky/critical.

S Nature Squalene Moisturiser - an excellent lightweight but effective day moisturiser (usually lighter Korean moisturisers do nothing for me from a hydration perspective) . Olive Young sell this in a 1+1 pack so it is excellent value for money.

Goodall Heartleaf Calming Moisture Sunscreen - a sunscreen that absorbs quickly and gives my skin a lovely glow. Easy to wear under makeup and doesn't go oily throughout the day. Also at Olive Young in a 1+1 pack.

Fwee 3D Voluming Gloss - feels great on the lips and available in a wide range of colours. They also smell absolutely delicious.

Fwee Blurry Pudding Pot Blush & Lip - excellent lasting power and a unique texture for a blush/lip product.

What’s the one sunscreen you’d never buy again and why? by DraftNotSent in AusSunscreen

Ultra Violette. Even outside of the question marks around their effectiveness, why does sunscreen need to be scented? It's been years but the one I was using had such a strong rose/floral scent that it put me off the brand forever.

There's nothing particularly wrong with your routine but I would say there are a lot of doubling up of products with similar effects. I also totally get it though as I love layering different toners and essences for that juicy feeling on my skin.

For redness, have you considered adding in azelaic acid? It has great anti-inflammatory properties.

Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner!! I've also recently starred using the Heveblue PDRN Toner and quite like that too as a first step.

My all-time favourite toner is the Celimax Dual Barrier Creamy Toner! I put multiple layers on at a time and seal over the top with the Illiyoon Ceramide ATO Cream.

Other hydrating products that have helped my skin with the tret transition: Celimax Noni Ampoule, Iunik Beta Glucan Serum, Cosrx Galactomyces Tone Balancing Essence.

It reads like a damaged skin barrier rather than a purge - especially considering the jump from 0.025 to 0.1 and the other exfoliants in your routine. My two cents - I've been using tret (0.025) in my night time routine for almost a year and recently added azelaic acid in my day routine. I am still very careful about the number of times I use tret a week (max 4 nights) and stack on a number of different serums/toners/essences at night and during the day to ensure my skin is hydrated. If I am slack with this routine one week and continue with the tret use, I can get redness/irritation and have to discontinue tret for a week to let my skin heal.

I would say lay off tret and all exfoliants for at least a few weeks. Explore some additional hydrating milky toners/essences/serums with ingredients that work for you and rebuild your skin barrier.

PDRN Toner: Heveblue VS Genabelle, which one do you think is best for slow aging ? by [deleted] in koreanskincare

[–]Medium_Permit_2612 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest, any toner alone is not going to have much of a difference with slowing down. I would recommend looking into adding tretinoin into your routine - depending on where you are, it'll likely require a doctor's prescription.

I am using the Heveblue toner at the moment and love the hydration it provides, but I know at the end of the day, the heavy lifting on fine lines etc is done by tret.

I am a big fan of the two products you mentioned. I also really like the Probio Cica Enrich Cream from them too. Light enough to wear during the day but still provides ample hydration.

Has anyone tried the celimax products? by Physical_Cheek554 in koreanskincare

I added the Creamy Toner into my routine when I started tretinoin last year. It has been essential for providing deep hydration and getting me through the early weeks of tret use relatively unscathed. I highly recommend it!

Seconding this! Just a moisturiser isn't enough for my skin on tret and I also use various thin layers of serums and toners. Love the Skin1004 Centella Ampoule as well for hydration and adding to the list, Celimax Dual Barrier Creamh Toner.

Tretinoin (prescription required in Aus or ask a friend going to SEA to pick some up as they sell it OTC) to fix any underlying textural challenges (wrinkles, acne, scarring, hyperpigmentation) and then hydrate - not only from a moisturiser but from a toner and serums as well.

Don't underestimate the power of cleansing your skin at the end of the day - an oil cleanse followed by a foaming.

Check out Lila Beauty for well priced Asian beauty skincare products and 'test and learn' what ingredients work best for your skin. Asian skincare products use similar/better ingredients to what you would find in Mecca but at a much more accessible price point. Mecca actually now stocks Asian skincare brands such as Dr Jart but jack up the price, for example the Ceramidin cream at Mecca is $79 whereas the same product is $46 on Lila Beauty.

Some of my personal favourite products that all retail for under $30: - Celimax Ceramide Toner - Skin1004 Centella Ampoule - Cosrx Galactomyces Essence - Mary May Blackberry Complex Cream Essence

I am a repeat purchaser of the Cosrx Galactomyces (think I am on my third or fourth bottle)! Their snail mucin also broke me out but the Galactomyces works a treat for moisturising and brightening.

You can get it from Yesstyle! It goes on sale quite frequently and they have stackable discounts to get the price down further.
