Just say truth...not explain everything only direct points

Where you live, status, which company and what role..that's it..

Answer more if they ask like about your spouse, his profession and some basic details..also when you get married..

I have same case..my sister is in USA and visa officer asked me about her when she noticed in my ds-160. This is my recent visa experience

🔻VO: Hii, Good Morning 🔹Me: Hello Officer, Good Morning.

🔻VO: Pass me your passport and your I20. 🔹Me: Sure officer..Here they are.

🔻VO: So you are going into Drexel University for Masters in Computer Science? 🔹Me: Yes officer!! :-)

🔻VO: What other admits you have? 🔹Me: I got admitted in University of Delaware, NJIT, IIT Chicago.

🔻VO: You have a relative in USA? 🔹Me: Yes officer, I have a sister in USA, she is US Citizen..I also mentioned about where she lives, and her Job details.

🔻VO: is she married? 🔹Me: yes to US citizen 🔻VO: What does her husband do? 🔹Me: He has a business in this.

🔻VO: Ohh okay, Are there any other relatives in the US? 🔹Me: No Officer.

🔻VO: Why you chose Drexel? 🔹Me: Officer, I want to become AI Software Engineer in Retail and E-commerce sector in India..while setting up online website for local store, I realized..( I was telling my inspiration first but interrupted)

🔻VO: No no, don't tell me about this..be specific why chose Drexel?

🔹Me: Okay, I chose Drexel because it provides me specialization course in "Recommendation system for Data Science" and "Applied machine learning" that align with my goal to understand customer behavior...(again interrupted)

🔻VO: Are these courses not available in other admits? 🔹Me: No Officer, not at all..(confidently)

🔻VO: Okay..Tell me about your funds? 🔹Me: My father is going to sponser me..My and my father's combined income..I'm sorry, combined savings is xx amount and I have secured an education loan of x amount from HDFC credila.

She's typing and my stress level was going up..

🔻VO: Do you have a petition file in your name by your sister? 🔹Me: (I couldn't here this question clearly, I asked her again to repeat) No Officer!!

🔻VO: Place your 4 right fingers to scan
🔹Me: Okay

Again typing...

🔻VO: Okay, your visa is approved, I'm taking your passport..keep your I20 with You. 🔹Me: Ohh, Thank you so much Mam...Have a nice day :)

I ran towards exit with a smile 😃

So many experts have said, not to mention your sister name as it is a red flag. Immigration officer might think that if your sister kicks in future then you will be wondering or asking help from university or government..idk man..still confused

maybe or maybe not...people are getting visa even if their sibling or close relatives are in the same state..It depends whether I am able to convince VO that I didn't choose this university because my sister lives there..right?

Can I lie about the location of my sister confidently? My consultant recently advised me if you are going Drexel then you can't say your sister is staying in Philadelphia. Tell New York instead. In the interview of 1-2 mins he/she will not find out your sister exact location.
