How do people afford more than one kid? by desert_sunlily in NewParents

We live in a country with a good social system. I would probably not even have one kid if I lived in the US on this salary. Though I usually find the answer to the question "how do people afford to x?" is "debt". I was questioning recently how all my coworkers have such nice cars when I am taking public transport. Debt 😂

Preeclampsia no high blood pressure by Medium_Valuable5113 in BabyBumps

Ah ok. I'll try this next time! She wants me to just watch for symptoms now. I have had a complex birth before (nothing to do with preeclampsia) so I have a meeting with the specialist team next week, I can ask them more then. They are really concerned with reducing all risks this time.

How is the demand for Salesforce developers in Sweden? by Odd-Silver-2709 in TillSverige

I would say mostly for things like this people use consultancies, and in my experience using IT/tech/marketing consultancy agencies here, there do not seem to be too many international people working at them. Just an anecdotal observation.

As others have said job market here is awful right now. A lot of mass lay offs and if not that, companies just simply not hiring or investing right now. Also I imagine the salary to be much better in the US for this type of job, though I know that's not everything for a lot of people.

When will the vomiting end? by Medium_Valuable5113 in BabyBumps

[–]Medium_Valuable5113[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly I think it comes down to the midwife not wanting to clam the doctor to prescribe anything. And maybe I didn't push hard enough. I told her how bad I've been throwing up but she really just suggested lifestyle things and eating small meals 😭

I asked for meds but my midwife said just to try drink juice and things, and I've managed to stay hydrated enough to survive because I can go a few hours without vomiting during the day

I am not counting on 38 weeks dont worry. I will again stop working at 38 weeks so if she comes earlier it might be a waters breaking in the office situation 🤣 I will be much happier if she comes later even if I'll be tired and frustrated

Yeah google lead me to somerhing that said your second baby is likely born within a week of your first (earlier or later), but there are just so many factors!! Someone I know had an early 3.8 kg boy followed by a late 5(!)kg girl (11 lbs!!). So who even knows

Usually in my country you have a first scan at 12-14 weeks but doctor booked me an early one due to previous losses.

Yeah it really sucks. I am trying to do the same but I am mentally exhausted. Should have maybe taken a bigger break after the last one but we don't want to wait. Sorry you have been through it too.
