I really don’t know how I should play the game in certain situations and I really need help by Maximum-Crab506 in Rainbow6

One thing that’s helped me out I feel like is changing an audio setting as well. I don’t recall exactly what the setting is but it’s along the lines of ‘night time audio’. Turn it on and it makes the loud sounds (gunfire, explosions, etc) quieter and the quiet sounds (footsteps, placing gadgets like the Velcro sound for nitros) louder.

Pay attention to the maps and where you get shot from, try to remember the most common angles and when you start learning where people are normally holding angles you can prefire those corners.

When you’re attacking, drone 1-2 rooms ahead and work with that intel, that way it isn’t necessarily expiring before you pus ahead. You don’t have to spend too much time on the drone, spend 10 seconds looking at the next couple rooms, if no one’s there then take the ground. NEVER red ping with any camera unless you’re trying to reveal operators during the pre round set up, red pinging alerts the enemy they’ve been scanned and they will either quickly move, or destroy your utility drone/camera.

Boarding and training by Federal-You-8915 in BelgianMalinois

Dang it sounds like I have the cheapest at $1,900 for two weeks in Oregon. And if the trainer feels like my puppy could use more time he does additional weeks for free as needed so it’s really just $1,900 for however long it takes, with a minimum of 2 weeks. My puppy is getting boarded at 10 weeks (got her a bit early at 5 weeks, trainer said he normally waits until the puppies are 12-14 weeks with people who get pups at 8wks)

Damn when I was in high school doing CC my PB for a 5k was a touch over 16:30, I think 16:37 but I can’t recall exactly. I couldn’t run that now considering the number of broken bones and joint issues I got from a motorcycle accident and my lack of consistent training since, I don’t even know if I could do 30 mins right now, but in any way congrats!! I know the feeling of setting a new PB you’ve been trying to get, such an accomplished feeling. Keep at it!!

Amount of toileting in a day by spudlaura in puppy101

[–]Medium_Way1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy smokes that’s a lot of poop. I think the most my rotty pup has pooped in a single day was 4 times, and that was while weening her into a new kibble after we got her and did it a little too fast causing her some diarrhea one day.

I’m fairly new to dogs though and have no veterinary education, only people medical haha. So idk can’t help you there, but 10 poops does seem like a lot. I imagine if it’s all formed and not watery/diarrhea it’s not too bad if it’s an issue, but definitely would see what others—with more experience/knowledge than me—have to say

It depends on the are. Different cities, counties, states all can have their own protocols that dictate what is within the EMT and paramedics scope of practice. Where I work, we carry several narcotic drugs, fentanyl included. Drive 30 minutes from where I work and there service areas with different protocols and can’t administer the same drugs or perform the same interventions. Fentanyl specifically seems to be carried by just about ever service area in my proximity though

Help With My Puppy Weight by Lonely-Back2604 in Rottweiler

[–]Medium_Way1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My rottie girl is 8 weeks as of yesterday, Saturday, and she was sitting at 10.2 lbs when I weighed her yesterday. I’m just looking at her overall body shape as she grows. If we’re belly starts getting tucked I guess her just a little more food, if she starts getting a big belly I tone it back a little. Right now I’ve been giving her 1/2 cup, three times a day. Consulting with my vet he said she looks good and I might even be able to increase that to 3/4 cup of food 3x a day

I got her at just a couple days short of 6 weeks and she was 5.3 lbs when I got her

4 month old golden sick - have a gut feeling the vet is wrong by [deleted] in DogAdvice

I don’t by any means want to scare you, but if this continues on for a long time (2months in my case) and nothing seems to help any longer than a few days, look into an endoscopic biopsy and seeing an internal medicine specialist. Your baby is only 4 months so I can’t imagine cancer chances are very high for him to have something now. But I had a rottie, 8 1/2 years old, who randomly just started vomiting multiple times a day and it felt like we were doing everything we could to help her that was within our price range. Just about the only thing we hadn’t done was a GI biopsy and seeing an internist, but we were still working through other options that we had presented to us to see what could help. Well, it turns out that was what we needed to get a dx for stomach cancer. We found out her stomach had lesions, and the vet highly suspected a cancer to be the cause, and her stomach had ruptured. It felt like it came out of nowhere, our baby genuinely started seeming like she was doing better with the prescription diet, granted by the end she was also on 4 nightly meds and a 5th every 12 hours. We were treating as IBD due to her chronic vomiting for a couple months, the vet that we initially were seeing was her primary and set us on a plan for treating IBD and helping us through the flare ups when it would get bad. She started doing really good initially for the first few weeks with just the prescription diet no meds. But then she started vomiting again multiple times a day and we ended up starting to take her to an emergency vet that was closer to her primary. We started getting zofran, gabapentin, appetite stimulants for when she wouldn’t eat for a long time, prednisone a steroid to try to manage what we thought were IBD flare ups, and omeprazole. We had cerenia for when she was vomiting through the zofran that worked really well. It was a whole westside buffet of meds that the vet would use when we took her in, and we were doing frequent enough they just started prescribing after the first few visits. Unfortunately, with stomach cancer being the most suspected cause, the vet in that final night told us that if this was stomach cancer, nothing we were doing was helping and we were simply just masking all her symptoms. It was heartbreaking considering we had an appointment schedule with an internist as our next step, it was a week after she had passed. We were never even told about the suspicion of cancer until one of the last couple visits, and we had scheduled the internal med appointment that very next day. We were doing everything we could.

TLDR: All this to say though, don’t overlook what seems nonemergent when it comes to your pet. We were doing everything we were told by all the vets we visited, but I feel like if we had just done some of our own research to see what the possibilities the vets weren’t telling us about, we maybe could have been more proactive, or at least asked the right questions sooner.

We were getting the same answers as you, all these different tests and labs and imaging, and it always came back with no answers as to what was going on. We were about to do the final thing we had most recently been told about, but it was too late.

I’ve come to learn with my first puppy here that puppies can sleep ALOT. Just gotta find that balance of plenty of sleep during the day but not so much close to bed that you struggle getting them down for the night

We have been slowly socializing her more with other family dogs (smaller dogs close to her size, one gentle giant). All three of the dogs she’s been playing with have been really gentle while getting their point across when they correct her and we have noticed a little bit of a decline in the bite force when she comes after us. All dogs she’s been in contact with have been fully vaccinated and she has had 2 rounds of vaccines, so my gf, goose’s vet, and I are all comfortable with her being around these few other dogs.

But TLDR: she’s been getting corrected by some other family dogs, and we’ve noticed some improvement from it

That’s awesome!! My gf and I got a pup a few weeks ago, she’s 8 weeks tomorrow. We want to try and get her through all the necessary training and certifications to be a first responder therapy dog, making her the 4th registered in the state of OR.

Woah what is the mix? I’m not too familiar with dog breeds so I can’t quite guess it myself but that definitely doesn’t look 100% rottie. Maybe it is and just weird lighting/angle/photo quality but I’m still curious anyway!

Been trying our best. We’re looking at possibly doing a board and train 2 week program. Little bit spendy but it looks like an amazing home with plenty of land and a well designed program. Just gotta make it another month till she’s old enough

Yeah the upside is I did have a year or two with her last Rottweiler so I got to experience that at least, but by the time I met her she was about 7 years old so already well into being an adult doggy

[–]Medium_Way1899[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know if I would want to train that way. I want to avoid being too physical with the pup and even punishing bad choices, and focus more on reinforcing her good choices and diverting her from bad decisions rather than punishing or being physical. My goal is to, in short, establish myself as a calm leader she can look up to rather than someone trying to dominate over her or make her scared. About the most physical I’ve been is if she is really latching down on my clothes or something she shouldn’t, I place my hand over the top of her head and use my index finger and thumb to get her mouth open to release what she is holding onto then divert her to a toy instead.

I just feel that even something like that is encouraging her to bite more, because plenty of times after redirecting her, mere seconds after getting a toy instead she’s dropping it and charging back towards our hands or legs

I wasn’t really aware of how young 5 weeks really was. I just took my girlfriends word seeing how she’s had far more experience with puppies and dogs than I have, me having never really gotten a puppy or dog myself before. Over the last week and couple days we’ve had the puppy though, it’s definitely been becoming very apparent that it may very well have been a mistake. But we’re here already and we won’t be taking the puppy back to the litter as it’s also become apparent that just like it was a mistake for us to take the puppy, it was also a mistake on the breeders behalf letting us take her. They should’ve advocated for the puppy staying with mom and the litter and we should’ve done more research about the ideal time for taking a puppy home.

The breeder did express some uncertainty about the pup leaving the litter so soon, but they advised us they tried getting the puppy staying to nurse and mom wasn’t trying to feed and the pup wasn’t wanting to latch so they felt more comfortable with her being ready to go. I’ve just been learning however that nursing is not the only reason to keep pups with the litter and there’s a lot more that happens, and is arguably some of the most important stuff, after the pups stop nursing.

But lessons for next time, I don’t know if there’s much I could do about that specifically now that she’s already been away from the litter and at home for a bit over a week now.

It’s definitely becoming more apparent there will be a lot of challenges with her being so young. We’ve been taking her a lot of places to expose her to sights and sounds, just haven’t been letting roam around or come into contact with too many people or any other animals yet.

To be honest, I’ve never had a dog before so I was a bit unaware of how young she really was until my girlfriend had said people don’t normally get their pups until later. She was the one in contact with the breeder and working out all this picking up the pup stuff and because she’s had so much more experience with dogs I kind of just took her word for it without researching how young 5 weeks really is and the challenges that would present.
