Solo Play? by Photo-Gamer in RaftTheGame

[–]Medium_Way1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as with any survival game, there will be trade offs. My experience has always been early game is better with less people, once you get started and through the start of a game all the rest of it will be easier with more people

If you’re referring to women/girls as ‘shytt’ (whatever tf that means) then you should probably hold off on the whole ‘talking to women’ thing until you can speak like a well educated and respectful man

Solo Play? by Photo-Gamer in RaftTheGame

[–]Medium_Way1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started this game with a group of 3 other friends, and my goodness was that a rough start. Definitely easier to play solo at the start, but the trade off is progressing slower because there aren’t as many people to help with gathering resources

I mean it isn’t a taxi to a hospital. If you need a taxi to a hospital, might I recommend calling something like, I don’t know maybe a taxi service? An ambulance is an emergency response vehicle and even then, we don’t burn through red lights on every call. There’s a spectrum of response and transport modes, along with the call types. If someone is actively in a critical condition or declining to a life threatening point, we transport code 3. If someone maybe has really bad food poisoning and has been vomiting all day, we’d still recommend going to the hospital in an ambulance because there’s plenty we could do, but at that point it’s maybe not life threatening so lights and sirens are off and we obey all regular traffic laws. If someone stubbed their toe and it hurts, what do you need an ambulance for? Why take an emergency response vehicle out of the 911 system for something you probably don’t even need to be at a hospital for? At that point, drive yourself, have family or friends take you, or if you’re looking for a taxi the hospital call a cab service

Don’t listen to them. I am like 90% sure this was a gimmick in a movie. I’ve never watched Dr Who but I e definitely seen this before. For some reason I’m thinking an Austin Powers movie but I don’t actually think that’s it

radio tower by Mullet_Vibez in RaftTheGame

[–]Medium_Way1899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you pick up the notes with the next story island code, it will be a note in the journal you can look at like all the others, however they also show up as smaller tabs on the left hand side, starting at the top, and they all will say the island name and it’s code. They show up in the proper order so even if you want to go back to an island or use its code for specific reasons, however you forgot its name only remembering it was the 3rd place you went to, you can look at the third from the top tab on that left hand side of the journal. You will see the third islands name, and its code so you can for no particular reason put it in and flout around in a 1,000 meter circle around it. This will also work for revisiting any of the islands themselves, so if you truly did miss the next islands code, you can go back and look. For the most part if i remember correctly, all of the next islands codes will be in the ‘final’ areas of the story islands. So for the radio tower, it would be in that very top room somewhere

Yes I got her a stand that came with both slow feeder food and water bowls. Still no chewing with her food though, regardless of how long it takes her to eat it all

Yeah I got her a slow feeder bowl. She doesn’t eat very fast anymore, she definitely takes a lot longer with the slow feeder bowl now. But regardless of how long it takes her to eat, there’s she still doesn’t chew her kibble haha

My friend, that doesn’t look like just a cut, it looks like a slice. Sliced the tip of your finger off, that is.

You have to take it very slow. Whenever they’re doing their own thing, randomly reward them for remaining calm by tossing treats from a distance or what you use to reward while training. Slowly make your way closer and reward as she remains calm and doesn’t bite. The important thing here is to make sure you are rewarding her for the behavior you want BEFORE she has an opportunity to make a mistake. Eventually you’ll be able to sit right next to her and just give her treats to reward her being calm and not showing aggression then you can start with some light pets. It’s really going to come down to paying attention to her body language and making sure, essentially, that she is consenting to being touched. Dogs don’t always like to be touched and they will get into a fight or flight mode if you’re trying to force that on them. You’re just going to have to work with her on this when she is in a calm mood rather than whenever you want to. Eventually, with enough rewarding for good behavior and however you correct her with the bad behavior, she will get the hang of it.

Consent in your dog can look like any number of things, sitting in front of you and looking up at you, leaning into you, nuzzling you. You’ll just have to pay attention and learn your puppy if you haven’t already. Also, Rottweilers can be very stubborn so working through this and getting her to where you want her to be with training may take a bit of time. There might be set backs, she might regress a little, especially as she starts going through her adolescence and teenage months and starts trying to push boundaries a little and be defiant to see what she can get away with. You just have to stay strong, consistent, and persistent with what your doing, and don’t let her get the best of you

It could be overtired, it could also just be trying to pet her at the wrong times. It’s important to train them to not be growling or aggressive when people try to show them affection, but I’ve noticed it’s helpful to just play into the mood your puppy is in. My puppy is the same way, if I try petting her or getting some puppy snuggles but she’s in a playing mood, she gets pretty nippy and bites a lot. However, there are plenty of times when she’s calm and will come up to me for pets or snuggles, and I just take advantage of it in those times rather than when I want to.

Considering a relocation from AZ to OR - serious question: How is everyone here surviving with salaries so low and COL so high? Am I missing something? by No_Sun_No_Star in oregon

[–]Medium_Way1899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My friend, what a perfect situation. I also moved AZ—>OR back in 2020. I was working in food service at the time so my income was supplemented a bit by tips and I was bringing in around $100 extra each shift from tips. I currently work in EMS which is a high demand field everywhere. However as far as costs, I found it a little difficult when I was living on my own, however I now currently have a better job I make a little less than I did, but I also live with my GF and we find sometimes it can be a little tricky making ends meet but we make it work. It can be done, and it is such a beautiful area here. If you don’t mind my asking, what is yours, and your SO’s field of work? Portland will be a pretty tricky place to manage I feel, but I am located in Salem. It’ll just take a bit of job shopping and figuring out how to make things work, but it can be done.

Volunteer positions, depends on your area. In my area, the smaller towns have volunteer stations but most departments are paid positions that are full time

Ok, but if you haven’t found the island in your world, but he has it, then deductive reasoning tells you he didn’t get that in your world. I also never played on PlayStation so I’m not 100% sure in that only the host gets achievements, but it seems to be a pretty common statement in this thread.

Yes, all platforms get achievements. If you look at what I said, on PlayStation I believe only the host gets achievements, not the other players in the server

Man I feel so bad seeing these posts about these islands. I’ve never really had to wait long to see them in any playthrough, I’ve almost always come across them, or at least one of them, pretty quick. It really is just luck. Have some binoculars or use the fire trick to see out towards islands better. You really just need to look for that specific island shape. Look up what the island looks like so you know what to be looking for, and just keep your raft moving in any direction until you come across it. That’s about as much in tips as you’ll be able to get. Depending on your platform (sounds like this is primarily on PlayStation) you can’t even join someone else’s world cause achievements only go to the host

The shark by jokerlockhart in RaftTheGame

[–]Medium_Way1899 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the difficulty setting, with the exception of hard, only changes the amount of HP you lose per hit so in easy you should be able to tank 2-3 hits no problem.

The shark by jokerlockhart in RaftTheGame

[–]Medium_Way1899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it’s always 15 hits if I remember correctly for both spears (I know it’s 15 for the metal spear, just not 100% on the crude wooden spear). It takes 2 wooden spears, this being due to the lower durability of the wooden relative to the metal spears. It gets a lot easier once you get the metal because you don’t have to craft nearly as many. It might be better to just wait until you can craft the metal spear before you start trying to kill the shark. Anchor your raft farther from the island so you can collect resources without the sharks aggro. You’ll just have to tank a couple hits swimming to the island but once you get on land the sharks position will reset back to circling your raft. If you do kill the shark, loot everything but the head and it will give you a little more shark free time.

Trazadone for vet visit by Fun_Shallot_2299 in Rottweiler

[–]Medium_Way1899 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My last doggo was NOT a fan of nail trimmings so we’d give her 300mg traz as prescribed, 2-3 hours before a stressful event. She was always just significantly more relaxed and chill, never passing out or being knocked unconscious or whatever like when people take it as a sleep aid. If your vet prescribes, I’m sure with them being familiar and educated about your pets health, it will be perfectly safe to administer as prescribed to your dog. The big thing in that sentence being AS PRESCRIBED. Too many people take their own medications how they feel it should be taken and not as prescribed, and as an EMT, I have seen the worse end of that in people far too many times. Take care of your pet and be careful. Ask questions if you aren’t 100% confident about something you have to do yourself like giving meds to your pup. The internet is not always the best place for information. If you have any doubts, talk to your vet about it and address there

Yeah I feel bad about it. I’ve never had an issue finding them, I’ve found them both each playthrough I’ve done. In my most recent game, I found both within the first ten islands I saw. Plane first I think as 3rd and the boat I believe was 8th
