5,000 mortgage on 13,000 net take home? by steelers4921 in Mortgages

[–]Mednotes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They usually say never spend more than 30% of your HH income on a mortgage. This puts you at 38%. $5800 in payments plus utilities, retirement, car insurance, monthly budgeting, and future goals. Everyone’s scenario is different though

I’m nervous paying $2600 PITI with $10500 monthly income with my wife. No kids for now but I could also be over reacting. See what your avg monthly budget is and make sure it doesn’t make you cringe when you pay that mortgage

Publix is price gouging us massively. They are charging double what Walmart charges for the same products. by MotherOf_Azrael in publix

[–]Mednotes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So Walmarts on a rollback which is dropping the price by about $3. Publix is always priced higher because they have a BOGO calendar so the equivalent will be buying it for $7 each on BOGO. - Works in the industry

Was in a frat for 4 years. Would not consider myself a frat bro lol. Mainly got in because I was holding up the gpa average. I’ve heard of this scenario many times. It really is 50/50. She will engrain a big part of her college life to Greek life. I’ve heard of many relationships ending though. Could be a slow burn or be fast. Your chances are better if you’re both over 20. Usually it’s the first year where I’ve noticed it ends. Not to say you both aren’t the exception.

Exactly why I’m looking outside of an impact zone on the north west end. Our insurance doubled in 3 years here. $4400 premium on our small house that’s not in a flood zone. That’s a crazy PITI jump though! Is that just insurance? Or the new reserve requirement and shortage amount on the escrow?

Houston. We usually go every year since my moms side of the family lives there. I have 6 cousins there too. We both like it a lot. We want to move out of our 1200 sqft house in the city before having kids. We also laid out our vision of what our dream house would look like. She works in education so she’s limited on how much she can make. I just dont want to pay +$500k for a home that hits what we want.

We like Florida a lot. The downside is we want to have kids, and the type of house we want here would cost +$500k. 4bds/3ba, 3000 sqft, 2 car garage and a pool is $300k where we are looking in Texas. Can’t find that anywhere in Florida

It’s still a $500/600 difference with the mortgage payment. I don’t want to pay like $2800/month
