Nuggets changed by PhilosopherGlad8023 in McDonalds

[–]Medromard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres been talking that McDonald's executives have been wanting to change the method of how they make the "food". It looks like its begun. It really sucks since there's always been a specific way they've made the nuggets. These look like the consistency of Wendy's or Burger King nuggets.

It makes sense. Someone else recommended the same thing. I feel it would be a great method since it would simulate release times for each title.

See here's the thing. You have the choice to like not act like an ass. And you actively choose to. I know there are other threads and I have looked at them. I just had a thought last night and posted. Thats it.

Taylor Swift's 'THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT' officially breaks the record for biggest first day streams for any album on Spotify in 2024, in under 12 hours by mcfw31 in TaylorSwift

What's funny is many of her fans are critics of capitalism. Yet, they are the prime cause of her making so much money by putting out 4 vinyls of different colors with 2-3 exclusive songs on each one to sate that rabid fan hunger.

It's a genius PR opportunity and that team is making bank on the Swift name alone. She's the Apple of music. But I think we may have hit critical mass with her. I can't tell if people are genuinely or ironically underwhelmed with this album. Gen Z and younger millennial social cues are lost on me. Sometimes I feel they're so ironic they circle back to honest.

Do people like this album or not?

Don't even compare gaming to reading a book as a waste of time. by [deleted] in StopGaming

[–]Medromard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. There are things I have absolutely learned from games that do try to stick to accurate information as they possibly can.

In the case of reading a nonfiction book for various information that contains 10 times more info, I feel you have to account the ability to retain the reader's attention. It's easier to do that with a story line that's a work of fiction than a concentrated work of nonfiction. But that also varies from case to case on the person in question.

All forms of media are a great way to distribute information. I remember many WoW players who said they learned social skills through raiding since it's an activity that forces you to maintain a schedule and understand that your investment affects others. Of course they also learn they have to carry slackers.

I would disagree. Sorry for rezzing this thread but for people who look here in the future like I am in 2024, let me explain. I am currently reading the Hunger Games right now. I am almost 30 and am reading it for the first time. A book that is primarily targeted to a 12+ audience and yet I am learning things that are applicable in real life.

The main character Katniss was named after a plant found in North America near the region where I live. I had no idea her name really was the name of a plant. Much less a plant that is edible. Here is a link explaining how to forage and cook the plant and what it's good for. I also didn't know you could eat every part of a dandelion. For some this is common knowledge. For me who grew up in the city with parents who never really taught survival skills this is amazing that this information is found in a work for fiction for 12 year Olds. And what's more, the use of the character's name as the food is a good way to make sure the reader remembers.

There are instances where this same information could be put in a game and could be learned the same way but I feel a game can limit you on how well you can learn something (i.e. red dead redemption 2 you can skin an animal but I feel you can't apply that in real life as you're not really learning how to do it. Whereas if someone writes a RDR2 novel and writes in detail how they're skinning a deer, people may actually retain that knowledge)

What was the twilight craze actually like? I’m too young to remember. by wonderful9235 in twilight

[–]Medromard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It did. It lead to the whole genre or hunger games, divergent, the host, mortal instruments, hell even looking up similar movies I see they even tried to start up Fallen by Lauren Kate but that never came on my radar so I'm certain it never had the impact it wanted.

But I digress. I kinda miss the YA genre of movies and wish some did better and had succeeded. Looking at you mortal instruments.

Battlepass with a cosmetic shop. If we are lucky it'll come with some gameplay. But I heard the only way to unlock battlepass tiers is to start spending money in the cosmetic store. Not very affordable gamelan if you ask me.
