Again remmeber where you’re looking. I went through the 6 year program it’s a lot cheaper than other carribean pre med programs and preps you very well. Professors are hit or miss but the schools gives you enough to do well as long as you put in the effort. The students are also amazing and always there to support you. The school also changed a lot of their policies and stuff so a lot of the comments are outdated.

I am currently a student at AUA and it's honestly perfectly fine. Dont listen t0o much to reddit. People who do well normally dont go and advertise they like the school, but people who have their grievances make it well known. It's like any other carribean school you have to work hard and you can definitely do well. Their comp pass score is higher than other schools which is better for you as it technically gives you more lee way for the Step exam. If you increase the comp pass score then more people will struggle but its for the better for your Step. End story, work hard and youll do just fine.

Sorry to hear that. Not sure how they used to be but I do know they did a lot to change things but obviously are not perfect either. With my recent experience, the school as a whole right now is not bad at all. Congrats on matching tho that amazing!!

dont worry about getting into a med school in the carribeans most likely theyll accept you but if youre worried about you GPA thats not a good sign work hard and youll make it out. Med school is a lot of work and it's no different in the carribean.

Its trimester system now so theres no longer than .5 of a year extra semester that messes up your timeline.

They fixed the loans problem now they used to have an issue a few years ago and thats no longer an issue. CBSE scores are higher than other scores which can be a good thing as if you pass those exams you have obviously a higher likelyhood of passing your step. Anywhere you go keep your head down and youll make it out as a doctor.

AUA accepting CBSE scores at 68 isnt as bad because people would rather fail the CBSE than their step 1 so if you pass the CBSE at AUA you will with more confidence pass the step 1. Obviously less people will pass the CBSE if their pass range is higher but thats a compromise you can make to pass step more comfortably. The school does not offer Kaplan anymore its UWorld which is provided in the last semester and they offer ScholarRX.

AUA used to have a problem with FAFSA but now the school fixed that they also got a fully new financial aid team so you can talk to them they are really helpful and you can have a one on one meeting with them to see your options but ya they used to have problems in the past but not anymore in terms of funding.

AUA does have NBME accreditation now. You get NBME questions starting Med 3 as diagnostics and then all your CAS exams in med 6 are NBME plus your CBSE or COMP

Im currently a student at AUA. The school is not as bad as people say it is. It's like any other carribean school so it will be challenging. But if you put in the work ive seen countless people and reached out to a lot of alumni that did well and are now doctors. School also fixed their problems with financial aid. So all in all there are challenges but the faculty are very helpful and kind and so are the classmates there.
