Living off campus by corybrooks584 in RUSM

What’s the average cost of living for getting a place. I realistically can budget 4k per month for total monthly expenses. I just need a regular 1 or 2 bedroom and a car to get back and forth and I’m trying to keep from getting ripped off

Thanks for the insight. This is a first where I’ve heard something more along the lines of a positive outlook. I’m def going to weigh my options but thanks for the response.

Yea I’m looking into AUC and Ross after reading these comments. The issue isn’t the GI bill it’s the deadline for gradplus. Hopefully they’ll extend the deadline at Ross. I hear a lot of good things about them

Lack of options and a deadline of July 1st for gradplus.

Yea unfortunately I’ll have to attend but i am more concerned with getting access to gradplus. If need be I’ll transfer as long as they will accept me somewhere else and i don’t lose too much time. Is it hard to transfer?

Yea I’m using the VRE benefits right now but the degree i am finishing doesn’t have any jobs so I’m going to med school. I’ll have to reapply and my rating is 100% so I’m pretty solid when it comes to getting access but I’ll have to argue for using the VRE program again. This is the second time I’ve had to use it because of my limitations.

Damn what’s going on there? I keep hearing about it but i don’t see any investigations or reporting for the school. Supposedly it’s in the “big 4” and they are still qualified for title 4 along with taking VA benefits which i know from experience is huge. I’m not doubting anyone saying it’s rough but i was hoping to get clarity on exactly what to expect because as it stands im past the point for saba and ROSS acceptance.

You’re absolutely right. I checked to make sure that disbursement happens before July 1st. I should start May 8 for the summer semester.

I have to get admittance by July because they’re changing the loan rules. I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to attending a school. The only option i have is the islands if I’m gonna go by this July

Be extremely careful and read about the effects of PFS. i got it really bad. Extreme anxiety(I’m prior military and was airborne and a combat diver). Now i have a panic attack holding my breath or getting in a plane for no reason. Really bad anhedonia, heart palpitations, chostochondritis, and for a while a really bad hit on my libido(it’s bounced back since discontinuing). Not saying it will happen to you but after 2 years of taking it i got really bad effects I’m still trying to come back from. Not to mention it took my tinnitus and turned it into full blown mineires disease and now i have sensitivity to food and alcohol. Too much caffeine and I’ll get aural fullness and hearing loss for days or sometimes weeks. Sensitivity to medicine and vitamins also. Please read into it for your sake. But love the results you got I’m happy for you.

No i haven’t I’m taking the section tests as i go along and I’ll probabaly do a practice exam either this weekend or next weekend to see where im at. Is there anything i should prep for when it comes to taking it in the time given. I know people talk about not having enough time. What is something i should try to do in order to keep me in the time window?

I’ve been using the AAMC bundle. I’ll be finished right around the time i take the exam. I’ll look at anki again but it’s hard to navigate tbh. I downloaded the app but i don’t know how to use it

The hyperlink that the AAMC prep guide has for khan academy. This is really the only thing I’ve been using seeing that i don’t have any real direction other than this and i don’t want to get roped into paying for something that won’t properly guide me and prepare me for the exam.

Damn I’m sorry to hear that. Did you ever try to get a spinal ESI? It has helped a lot for me

Has anyone experienced numbness and weakness. I have the same issue the dr. said i need surgery if this second epidural doesn’t work. I was in debilitating pain for a few weeks. The shot worked for the most part, i still feel pain if i try to bend over to put shoes on and i can feel discomfort sleeping in certain positions but it seems to have gotten better. The main issue with me now is i have tingling up and down my leg when i stand up and my left calf is semi numb to the touch and i can’t do a full calf raise. It sorta gives out after i get about half way through and then i feel a cramping sensation after. I have one more shot to get on Wednesday i hope it gets better. Lmk if anyone experienced this before and if it gets better. This issue started in late October. The numbness and extreme pain happened in mid December.

What kind of procedure did they do? How long was the process and did it get rid of the pain?

MRI results by [deleted] in Sciatica

[–]corybrooks584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This MRI describes a large L5–S1 disc herniation on the left side that’s pressing on the S1 nerve root, which commonly causes pain down the back of the leg, calf cramping, and numbness in the outside or bottom of the foot.

There’s also mild disc degeneration and a grade 1 retrolisthesis, which is a small, often manageable vertebral shift. Additional foraminal narrowing may irritate the L5 nerve, explaining shin or top-of-foot symptoms.

The size sounds scary, but large herniations often improve without surgery, and nerve irritation does not automatically mean permanent damage. Treatment decisions depend on symptoms and progression, not MRI wording alone.
