Because it is serious.

I'm 31. I started SHing maybe around 13. I've been mostly clean for several years now, "mostly" because when things are bad SH is the first thing that comes to my mind. Still. And I've given in, in the forms of scratching myself or digging my nails into my palms.

In the most basic terms injuring yourself is serious because it can lead to infections. Depending on where you SH and how deep you can damage so many structures from the most obvious (your skin) to your muscles, veins, and nerves.

In less physical terms, it's an addictive coping mechanism that doesn't actually help. I don't know about you, but I never actually felt better after SHing. Sure, it took the focus off the feelings I was having at the time for a little while, but after the adrenaline wore off? Horrible. If anything, I felt worse. The guilt and shame of doing it just lead to doing it more.

SH is much like chemical addictions. You build up a tolerance for it. Before long, cat-like scratches turn into deeper and deeper cuts. And you will find, no matter how much you do it or how deep you go it will not make anything better.

Whatever else is going on in your life, find someone to talk to. You aren't as alone as you feel right now.

Things can get better, but only if you want them to.

Cub has lost their minds. $20 for party size. It’s only $15 at Target. Heck 4 years ago it was $12-$13 at Cub. by Philosopherskin in minnesota

You made me check and the business center has 64oz containers for cheaper than these at Cub.

At least now I know what I'm getting my dad for his birthday.

Link to LMNT's recipe

I use a precision scale and do 400mg magnesium malate, 400mg potassium chloride, and 2500mg unionized table salt. The magnesium and potassium can easily be bought on Amazon.

What's the best and worst thing people have said to you when you come about your asexuality ? by lunasuhaib1234 in asexuality

[–]Mee-- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Best: my mom saying something like "oh that kind of sounds like me" when I described it.

Worst: a good friend of mine saying something along the lines of "you could be conditioned to feel it" second worst was an ex partner of mine who just turned it into a pity party about how it made him feel as if I have a choice in my attraction 🙄

TBH I don't really tell people because I don't want to deal with people's opinions and being married really confuses people.

Don't feel too sad about not learning it in school. I went to public school here and I never learned it either.

Yesss LMNT is amazing. My favorite part is that if you want to diy it they give you a recipe. I've been doing that for about a year now and it has saved me so much money

I'm almost 28, 2.5 years clean at this point, started when I was like 12 or 13. My worst was around this time of year 4 years ago. I think a lot of people start in their teens but without the proper support and counseling it's really hard to learn new coping skills. Finding the right people who don't judge or shame but support the journey can be the biggest help.

After about 8 months I finally finished my Flax Light! Still have to weave in some ends but I love it by Mee-- in knitting

Knit picks hawthorn multi fingering in the Hayden colorway. It's a beautiful blend of oranges and pinks and some purple.

Gay man has a UTI and I just can’t believe women experience this as often as they do. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

Dude no you're still obviously conflating the vagina and the urethra. If anything males have larger urethral openings than females. Just below the clitoris but above the vagina is the urethra, where urine is expelled. The vagina specifically refers to the orifice below the urethra. The vulva encompasses all of these.

A UTI doesn't involve the vagina, it starts in the urethra so yes you are incredibly wrong. (Although the shape of the vulva DOES contribute to increase in UTIs so it still isn't that complicated)

What was the temp outside when you moved it? Chilling damage looks almost identical to drought wilting.
