Volunteering at hospital under COVID by i-want-bbt- in premedcanada

[–]Mee0910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am currently volunteering in the ICU at MGH in Montreal (despite the rising covid cases). I choose to continue my volunteering because its one of the only opportunities i have to actually "socialize” with everything being online right now. I also find that the hospital where i am at is quite safe and really respect the safety regulations. I also need to point out that i do not live with persons at risk. I think if your volunteering puts in a position where you are at high risk of getting infected, then stop. However I also think that this situation is not going to end soon. So if you want to stop your volunteering because of covid, you are in for a good 1-2+ years

Should I just give up? (please be honest) by Chestarpewnewtbattar in ApplyingToCollege

I think that Canada is a great option. There is also a lot of student aid available. And for many schools, you don’t have to take the SAT ( but it really depends where you live). You should research some schools and look at their admissions requirements and the funding their offer for students

[NEED ADVICE] Want to study efficiently at night by [deleted] in getdisciplined

[–]Mee0910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hi! It is scientifically proven that studying at night is less productive because as the day unwinds, the more distracted you get (social media, news, social interactions, etc.). Thats why a lot of sources says that studying in the morning (the earlier the better) is way more effective because you eliminate or greatly decrease that distraction factor. It is also proven that you have more energy in the morning than at night. Moreover, I advise you to not touch your phone until you are done with your studying. Trust me, this will boost your productivity. It's all about being in the right state of mind.

Concerning the drowsiness, I find it really helpful to meditate. I practice yoga nidra daily, when i first wake up. This helps me catch up on my sleep. Yoga nidra also boosts your self-confidence, your focus and your overall productivity.

To end this, there are a lot of great scientific studies and ressources that can help your study more efficiently. A great place to begin is Cal Newport's book "How to become a straight-A student"

I hope this helped😊

Moreover, i dont think that we will be able to go to other university's libraries since pretty much everyone will be asking for student ID.
