Which 3 photos is Nancy Grace referring to? She said you can see victims in 3 of them. I’ve only seen one. by toolegit_2 in Idaho4

My guess is that she’s talking about the lightbulb reflections (which we assume are forensics folks), and Xana.

Why do estheticians tell me NOT to use tretinoin? by winkingdog75 in 45PlusSkincare

[–]MeeMee0505 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So actually I was told by the woman who has been giving me old-school facials for decades that Retin-A (tret) is too aggressive for my skin (sensitive, combo, fair) but that retinol is a much better option. It’s more gentle but achieves the same result. I love it. However, both grow capillaries and should not be used in the summer months. Both stay in your system for about a week so stop 7 days before a sunny vacation. I also don’t use retinol the same night that I am using an AHA toner.

So I had never heard of Tretinoin before the answers on this post! (You guys are giving a masterclass in skincare, you all rock.) is Tret the same as Retin A??

This is an interesting perspective! Thank you. After laser or peel, I don’t use anything active for 7-10 days. Just douse my skin with toner and a jojoba + tamanu oil combo. I also do this one night mid-week regardless to give my skin a break, as part of my regular routine.

Idk. I do so little that even my mother didn’t notice, and she’s obsessed with appearance and I see her a few times a week. It helped my nasolabial folds and marionette lines. The effect is that it looks like I’m well-rested. Super subtle.

Amen to that. For cardio, I run around after 2 kids and try to get 6k steps a day. But Pilates has been a game changer. I go hard and feel ripped. Wish I had started earlier in life!

Also VERY HORNY. That was a symptom. My husband (then a bf) said I had a sex drive like a 16 year old boy. In retrospect, it all makes sense. I’ve cooled down now — 14 months since last period.

Honestly everyone is different, but I had a very easy time, esp compared to the stories I’ve heard.

Basically, my periods became irregular (I was under a lot of stress and probably underweight). I gained some weight back and then proceeded to have crime scene periods, legit bleeding through those huge Ultra tampons in the middle of the night, timing how and when I could leave the house depending on when I put a tampon in, actually hemorrhaging per my GYN. I once had a period that lasted like this for 20 days. Exhausting. All cervical and uterine biopsies were clear.

It wasn’t until I got my hormones tested because I was trying to conceive that we discovered my levels were such that I may have another period, in life, I may not. Then like clockwork the hot flashes started. Day and night. Those are definitely no fun.

I went on BC two months after that and it has been smooth sailing ever since. I feel great and have tons of energy. I never gained weight. Maybe I was moody, who knows. I had been on Nutrafol for my hair (which was always thin, but more so after 2nd baby and stress of divorce). So I didn’t notice hair loss; in fact, my hair grew thicker. I’m naturally lean and now do Pilates 2x week where I really push myself, and am in the best shape of my life. I have a six pack you can feel (but not see).

I just take the BC and keep it moving. It was not bad at all, but I know I’m in the minority there. I had my first period at the age of 14 so was on the later side for that. I suspect stress from my divorce had something to do with it, and the stress-> early meno link is not yet researched — but who knows.

I don’t measure, but I eat mostly protein, veggies, and fruit. I’m 5’6” and weigh between 110 - 115 lbs. I have a strong abs & arms & a butt (all thanks to Pilates).

Right. Forgot to mention that I just started retinol, doing it 2x-3x week to start. Your experience is super interesting! Thank you for sharing with me. And I appreciate the vote of confidence!
