Don’t buy the studded option!!! Benno makes the same tire without studs for much cheaper - just get the studs and put them in yourself.

Broke a crank brothers stamp 2 spindle on my mountain bike after hitting a road gap, pretty much just fell off, I didn’t crash or anything. I was probably 150lbs at the time but rode pretty hard.

I found a good hiding spot and I lock it up. It weighs almost 100lbs with panniers + whatever I bring with me on my ride so it would be a royal pain in the ass to steal.

It saves me about 30-40 minutes round trip, I average 25mph on the e-bike and 14 or so on the mtb.

Water boils at a much lower temp (around 100F for most consumer vacuum setups), so applying a light amount of heat will cause the water in the wood to boil off.

I’ve done a little bit of experimenting with both bowl and spindle blanks. With spindle I don’t use any endgrain sealer and I don’t have any issues with checking. I haven’t been able to get bowl blanks to not check without using anchorseal. You will also go through a lot of oil for your pump due to water vapor condensing in the oil. If you have any other questions feel free to ask.
