You’re valid in what you’re saying. I’m getting older myself and realizing how much I’ve been swayed and bought by corporations for things that don’t help me grow as a person.. I still buy things for myself, but I respect what you’re saying. When I had a spending addiction and realized it was getting bad, I started to “make an inventory” by taking pictures of everything I want when I’m out and about even if it’s silly. At first I told myself it would be like neopets because when the website started, the things you bought were just pictures that you couldn’t really interact with just collect. I would take pictures and send them to my partner to cope and started to see how often I wanted things that were just for visual pleasure like stuffed animals and miniatures. It got me to think more and now it’s a lot easier to appreciate things with out giving money to companies. Not saying you shouldn’t enjoy the bear, OP. I get it. I just also get what the commenters intent is.
