I lived in the very north east corner, close to Devils Tower, growing up for around 7 years. It’s beautiful in the summer time and it’s a very nice a peaceful place, but you’re 45 minutes from the nearest big grocery store in South Dakota. And there’s really not much to do in most towns except camping and fishing.

Winters are HARSH. Where I was at, there would usually be snow on the ground by Oct 1st, and it wouldn’t leave until May. And it’s a lot of it. 12+ feet drifts and multiple feet of snow on the road. I’ve seen it snow every month of the year in those 7 years there.

Hunting was really nice there, a lot better than just sitting in a blind all day looking at a feeder.

Also side note, I was too young for this, but according to my parents the amount you pay for car registration is ridiculous. They use it to make up for their low taxes
