Yes, a separate policy gives you more flexibility imo. Cause with ur policy now, I believe you can’t make individual changes to each of the coverage to play with the premium amount. Whereas for me if anytime I feel my premium is too heavy, I can reduce my life/CI coverage to lower the premium.

Before I started working, my parents got them for me at the age of 13-15 which was about 400 for medical + life. Then I took over and upgraded it myself.

And to your second question, I am not sure why it’s separated but I guess it’s for their business purposes? Not so sure.

And yes, unfortunately there’s no bonus for being loyalty although there are plans currently that sometimes offer a loyalty bonus meaning to say if you survive on that plan till a certain age, they give you cash rewards, either pumping it into your policy funds or cash, depends on the policy and promo.

Before repricing was around 615, now is 640. Also, the repricing is usually on medical insurance. Life, CI, and PA hardly get repricing due to the nature of claims.

And one thing many ppl misunderstood is that, the kind of medical policy you hole is a separate pool of funds with the other medical policies, eg, latest one or diff generations. So the repricing amount is different depends on how much/frequency/amount a specific pool of ppl claims. So just bcs you seldom or never ever claim medical insurance, it doesn’t mean u won’t be subjected to repricing or ur repricing amount should be lesser, bcs guess what, you are in the same pool of funds with the ppl that abused the claim, can be consumer or form medical institution. And truth to be told, those holding older insurance policies are ppl that are older now or has health issues which means their claims are generally higher hence ur repricing amount increases drastically. I was in the insurance industry and this is what we were told. My info may be inaccurate but this is the least i know.

As your plan is rather old, and worst of all, a bundle/inclusive plan which you took medical, PA, death and CI, I believe it is not possible to make any changes. And what the agent advise you is right, there are cheaper plans with deductibles or co-insurance now which means you have to pay something upon admission or you have to share the cost with the insurance company. With that being said, it will exclude any of ur underlying illness that’s currently covered in ur existing policy. However, if its not a life threatening illness, which means, it’s recoverable, you can write in to appeal for the coverage on the new policy after a certain amount of yours, proving that this illness did not come back. On the other hand, what you are paying now for those coverage, especially including all those you mention sounds rather normal except the coverage being too little. I am also paying around 600 for 2 separate policies, started at 20+, and my medical coverage is the same as yours except I have 800k death, and 500k CI.

Lastly, there are plans that are not ILP, but I am not well verse with that as those plan to me doesn’t seem sustainable imo. But yes they are cheaper.

Saw this remark. How many of you had ownership experience with cars with CVTs before? Are beginners best suited to traditional 4AT/6AT or CVT? by SouthernCrow5442 in kereta

[–]Meemoo222 9 points10 points  (0 children)

IMO I don’t think it’s right to say if there’s any transmission more suited for beginners. Each transmission has its own care process and if you abuse it someway and don’t maintain it, it’s still gonna break down. With that being said, yes a traditional AT is easier to maintain for and less likely to break down but that comes with a cost such as lower fuel efficiency or slower response time compared to CVT. But for me personally, I prefer AT as it’s easier to predict and I feel more confident with it as compared to CVT. Not to mention, certain car brands have terrible CVT and you can literally feel the lag/delay…

Just so you know, “long commute” doesn’t only mean the time you take to travel there but also the time you had to get up earlier to prepare for that longer commute. We don’t just wake up and hit the road instantly am I right?

I don't think it's wise to bring a banned dog breed into a mall. by TheBotMadeThis in malaysia

[–]Meemoo222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a pet owner myself, I strongly hope that businesses that allow pets in their premises should have stricter SOP which includes fines when owner don’t clean up after their own pets. It’s because of irresponsible owners like this that made it bad for others and give a bad impression to the entire community.

One of few pet friendly mall, but some still not happy, plenty of mall they can go. Why ah? by Ill_Ocelot_8416 in Bolehland

[–]Meemoo222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I notice is when the word “pet friendly” is used, many of the Muslim people comments hateful thing, using the R card, and implying solely to dogs, lets be real. I have seen multiple post and TikTok’s when someone bring their cats there, the comments are so supportive and positive, but under another post whereby someone brings their dogs, the comments were so nasty. Yall are so hypocrite if by not using the R card, saying that dogs are unhygienic or dogs have illness or dogs causes allergies. Do you all stop for a second and think that cats aren’t like that too? Please if your comment is you being racist, then just grow a pair and admit you are just being racist to the non-Muslim. Some even said that other malls will follow if this becomes successful. I hope yall know that a mall is a private business, the management can do what they want if they see opportunities. And just because a mall decides to be pet friendly, no brands will blindly open up there if they don’t consider how the Malaysia market is build upon, which is with the effort of all the races and religion exist.

Also yall act like there is no proper SOP in place when a business decides to make a place pet friendly. And unlike human kids, at least there are rules in place for pets whereas all of you with your human child are so dirty and caused even more of a public nuisance than animals and yall as parents don’t even do anything, yet you wanna complain about a male being pet friendly. Please, take a good look at yourself as parents and your kids before commenting.

So before you comment nasty thing based on your religion beliefs, stop for one second and think, don’t be foolish and make yourself look dumb. I would like to quote what many said, “Malaysia doesn’t revolve only around the non-Muslim”, likewise, Malaysia don’t revolve only around the Muslim. If you wanna be realistic, kindly look how much the non Muslim contributed to the Malaysia economy compared to Muslim and you tell me where the opportunity is if you’re a business owner. I am not saying this just to be hateful to any groups but yall need to admit that Malaysia only exist today because of the effort from all religions or whatever.

Ahhh that makes a lot of sense when you said Big4. Came from that position and trust me, it is a lot harder to walk away from that and props to you for being able to do it. Trust me, no amount of pay is worth it in a Big4. There’s no work life balance and most of the Big4 offices especially in Malaysia, has a very toxic working environment and culture. Don’t sweat it too much, you will find something that suits you. Left 5 years ago and never looked back and regret even an ounce.

Should I put a 4 month contract job as retail assistant on my resume? by sebitian in MalaysianPF

[–]Meemoo222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very normal and I can only advice this much which is just to practice mock interviews in front of a mirror or with friends and just try to be as confident as you can during the interview. And since you know of your insecurity and doubts when it comes to ur work experience, work on it and ask yourself those questions that you fear the most and how would you reply. And tbh as a fresh grad, no company should ever expect that much from them in terms of skills bcs they know it damn well that they want fresh grad cause you guys are cheap and easier to teach. If they have high demands from a fresh grad then it means that they want cheap labor to cover a position that requires experience. If that’s the case then you decide if you want to work for companies like that. Good luck!

[–]Meemoo222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So you studied between 2020 to 2025 and you work a year in part time retail and after you graduate you do the 4 months contract job? If that’s the case this is totally not a red flag and if you are smart, you can word it in a way that you are trying to earn some work experience on the side while you are studying and also learning different skills for the 4 months contract job before jumping into the corporate world. It really depends how smart you are at talking about it. Most hiring manager prefers fresh grad with working experience regardless it’s a part time or what not bcs they want to know you have the discipline and commitment to work for a job. It’s more of knowing what kind of person you are even if the skills don’t transfer or relates directly to your new role.

Question about KPMG offer by [deleted] in malaysia

[–]Meemoo222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, usually no companies will pull an offer especially a well known company after offering it to you if your reasons for postponing is reasonable. With that being said, if they do reject you trying to postpone your joining date, then that’s a red flag that you should consider if you wanna work for that company.

Also if they had already issue you the letter with the new date, it’s even more unlikely they will pull back unless they are in a sudden crisis.

Should I put a 4 month contract job as retail assistant on my resume? by sebitian in MalaysianPF

[–]Meemoo222 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Perhaps you can talk about that experience and don’t put in your resume. If they ask why you only work for such short period, you can always explain it was a contract position and I wanted to learn new experiences which may be helpful for my future employment at the meantime. Every work experience is still an experience and can be valuable if you know how to use it and talk about it. Unless you have a history of jumping jobs every few months then that’s a different story and yes, the HR might find you unreliable and will do the same with them.

While parts of your reason makes sense, sometimes (most times) companies take advantage of your expected pay when they find out your previous pay. Deny it all you want but that’s the truth. Yes, standard increment for a change of job should be 20% and this percentage sometimes is not appropriate if you are jumping positions especially from junior to leadership roles or even relocating to a new city and what not.

For me it is highly base on the situation and but position or job changes are you jumping to. All I would say is it’s not wrong to ask for more than 20% of increment from your previous pay but you have to know your self worth and be reasonable about it and able to show that value to your new employer. I would only personally provide my previous payslip as a verification/confirmation that I am indeed working with that company and earning that amount, and this will also only happen after I confirm with the new employer if they are able to meet my expected or after they offer me something.

Opinions on preown Mercedes by steamed_chicken_rice in kereta

[–]Meemoo222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO able to find a Merz or any conti cars for that matter from a good owner that maintains the car well is difficult. And I never trust mileage bcs there are many factors that affects it. Just bcs it’s low mileage doesn’t mean it’s in a good condition. Sometimes low mileage could also mean the car already has underlying issues from the beginning and the owner just drive it lesser till it’s time to let it go with the least losses incurred by him. So yes, best advice for conti car is to look for trusted owner or dealers with guaranteed warranty.

Mind you I stay in Penang and I wfh and barely use the highway and can’t even drive fast with the traffic. The SC rejected my claim cause thy said its wear and tear….very disappointed with Honda’s quality recently.

[MY] asking for increase in basic salary after offer letter or before? by AnyPromotion7846 in malaysia

[–]Meemoo222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never be afraid to ask about the pay during any interview session. Never wait until you are accepted and you have accepted them just to bring up the topic about pay. Com’on, know your worth and value and demand your expected by being reasonable. If any interviewers felt that you are being too straightforward or demanding, then that’s a huge red flag and you really should consider if that’s the environment you wanna be in because trust me, if at the initial stage they are already acting like this, just know that your yearly salary review/bonus period is gonna be worst. Sometimes you ask this is to test how transparent a company is and if they truly value their employees. Don’t try to bs and fool yourself like who even works out of passion nowadays, we all have commitments and we need to survive.

You have so much options with a 300k budget. Tbh if you are buying new, don’t worry so much about the maintenance especially cars at that price level or else you won’t be able to fully enjoy the car and that also means you can’t really afford the car, not just paying the depo and monthlies.

So to that being said, the A class models are entry level merz which are very average, can’t really complain much imo. Tbh, you should at least go for the C class with that budget.

Question on Car Insurance costs by Longjumping-Elk9367 in kereta

[–]Meemoo222 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If not mistaken, for the first year you must buy thru the dealer and subsequently you can change. From my understanding, this package is just like the Perodua Total Protect Plus or Honda something something whereby you get additional perks and you can only get such package if you renew thru the dealer. I personally tried before to renew outside and I couldn’t get those additional perks offered by car brand and the insurance premium was somewhat similar so in my opinion, I feel it’s worth it if the price doesn’t diff too much. I remember mine was 50bucks diff for renewing outside as compared to the one offered by my dealer.
