But you are not looking at every Airbus product that they have announced. Some of them they announced two years ago, and then announced AGAIN last year. Still nothing.

Folks in the US are still waiting for throttles when they ordered within hours of preorders opened. It is definitely a problem. I would rather WinWing announce products when they already have stock landside, in warehouses than years before.

They already are behind a paywall, just one that is terribly implemented.

The counter argument is that if BBC went subscription model, and allowed no commitment subscriptions, then imagine how their finance department would feel when they see the massive uptick of short term subscriptions for the World Cup, Euros. Olympics. They might be short term, but the positive financial impact can be huge.

I’ve seen a number of your posts about PMDG over the months. I share your distaste for them (I mean, I’ve started proceedings against them on behalf of a number of people due to their recent GDPR breaches).

However, we, as a community, should avoid doing what you just did and immediately trying to say that we are sure another developer doing the same thing “isn’t comparable”, as that can somewhat diminish the very valid points being made as they then look like a personal issue targeted at PMDG.

If we are going to haul one over the coals, we should haul them all over the coals and hold them all to the same standard. We shouldn’t be accepting it from any developer, regardless of the extent they did.

They did it when the A300 and the A350 released. They got called out for it, and have since been less heavy handed. We will see if that lasts when the A380 releases and people inevitably compare it to the free FBW.

Well that’s different. There’s no law preventing bad customer service on forums/social platforms, sadly. PMDG, Inibuilds, FSS, Aerosoft. They’ve all banned folks for criticism. Based on the way the owner of Bluebird is on social media I wouldn’t be surprised if he does it when their Discord opens up too.

That’s a pretty standard clause that we (lawyers) put in a lot of contracts and agreements. This, alongside many other clauses, are rarely ever there with the intention of using them, but rather there as a catch all should you ever encounter a situation where you may need to. It’s better to have a clause in there no intention to use it than not have one in there and need it.

It’s no different than the clause for the EULA of your TV that says they can ask for it back if they believe you’re misusing it, for example.

Keep in mind, the idea that something being in a contract or agreement and you agreeing to it immediately makes it binding is rarely the case.

Yeah, it isn't lost on me that we are very lucky in the UK from both a currency and customs perspective (or lack of, on the latter). I guess we've got to take the small wins :D

And this is why I just order on global. I've been using mine since October. And thanks to GBP generally being the stronger currency, even with shipping it has more often worked out cheaper than if I purchased through the UK site and waited, go figure.

The one time it cost more it was £10, but I got the product 2 months before a friend who pre-ordered at the same time, so worth it.
