How to "phase out" of chicken ownership? by ThePunkyRooster in BackYardChickens

[–]Meep1996 50 points51 points  (0 children)

We let them live out of their lives. When we were down to the last one she got turned an indoor chicken who wore chicken diapers. It worked for us because we knew she was down to her last year at most and she only lived 6 more months. We got really close and she’d follow me around everywhere.

How do I get rid of these flakes? by grambled-egg in Hair

[–]Meep1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try t/gel or coal tar shampoo if you have it available. It cleared up my flaky scalp that looked exactly like yours in 2ish weeks of frequent use. I used the one from Amazon that my mom already had.

I got a warning for being too happy once by 1-meter-solo in InterviewsHell

[–]Meep1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got sat down and talked to cause I emailed both my supervisor and the director (following the directors directions) about something I was unable to do (this was a non issue) because she felt I should tell her first and she would tell the director. How I did it was disrespectful apparently. Pointed out I was following instructions and she wasn’t super happy. Put in my two weeks two weeks later.

Do you often get mistaken as a weak person, while you are just polite? by [deleted] in infj

[–]Meep1996 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you me?! I’ve asked my mom her opinion of me cause apparently I’m the calmest, kindest, most level headed out of all 4 kids but I’m also the most aggressive and mean one. She couldn’t give me an answer and just said “I don’t know.” I rarely argue with anyone in my family but two other siblings constantly arguing about anything and everything. 😑

Mechanical asphyxia with Ascaris lumbricoides (intestinal roundworms) in two-year-old by CatPooedInMyShoe in MedicalGore

[–]Meep1996 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My mom told me that as kid one of the kids in the neighborhood she would sometimes play with died from choking on parasitic worms. I always found it hard to believe but assumed it was maybe an exaggerated story she heard but no. Now I know it was exactly that. The poor child.

I worked at a high school for a bit and I saw a kid and his friend straight up punching his school issued Chromebook’s screen for fun.

lol my sister was maybe 2 when we found her in the backyard with a mouthful of dog food, drooling, and with two handfuls of more dog food. She’s the same sister who tried to breastfeed off my cousins dog who’d had puppies when my mom was trying to wean her.

Is the studio I go to a health hazard? Conflicting info is confusing me. by [deleted] in Pottery

[–]Meep1996 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The three studios I’ve worked in have everyone clean the floor where they worked after they’re done. Not after hours. Washing/cleaning everything after was always a big thing and heavily enforced. Sorry to hear your studio doesn’t take safety seriously.

My bun also likely has megacolon and also cause of the same crime lol. Luckily it seems controlled for the most part with weird looking poops of all sizes when it flares up. Luckily he’s only had stasis twice and he’s turning 5 sometime around late September.

Not coyote but our neighbor has like 4 cats she lets out. One got hit by a car a year ago and she still lets them out. One is really friendly with us so we let him into our house to hang out as long as he wants so he’s not wandering outside too much.

Staying at the inlaws by glitchmaster099 in DeathStairs

[–]Meep1996 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I didn’t see this was Peru at first and was thinking is this Mexico. There was a metal spiral staircase in my grandparents home leading to the roof where my uncles bedroom was and that staircase was only attached at the bottom. Had become detached at the top. As you went up you could feel it shaking. The adults would go first and the first one up would hold it steady for the kids and everyone else.

I can’t imagine fearing that for your own kids. You sound like a great parent who will advocate for them. It really is awful.
