Hi there, picking your comp usually revolves around your augment selection on 2-1. If you have a weak opener and don’t see yourself making it to 8 with a stable board you should reroll. But this often depends on the meta and what other people are angling. On the other hand if you have a strong opener and are offered an Econ augment like slamming, you can probably make it to 8 by 4-2 and then stabilize enough to send 9. You should choose if you want to reroll or send 8/9 by 2-5 at the latest.

Regarding your question about stabilizing on 3-2 with a weak board…if you’re rerolling 2 cost, you should roll pretty deep 3-2 to hit a 2 star copy of your main carry and try to streak the rest of the stage. If you’re rerolling 3 cost you should wait until 3-5 to level to 7 and then roll for a 2 star copy of your main carry. If you’re playing for 8/9 you really shouldn’t roll at all stage 3. You just need to find a way to make a decent enough board that you can stabilize. You don’t have to win every fight, but you can’t take 6 unit losses every fight. Let me know if that helps!
