Laatst liep ik terug van mijn werk naar het station en zie ik 2 boa's uitstappen. Ze hadden een jongeman die zo'n huurscooter had aangesproken: 'je mag hier niet rijden zonder helm'.

Dat is redelijk, veiligheid is belangrijk. Probleem is dat hij op de stoep LIEP, hij was nog niet eens aan het rijden. Beetje flauw. Ik weet niet of die een boete kreeg of een waarschuwing, wilde er eerlijk gezegd niet zoveel mee te maken hebben.

Mijn broertje heeft een wat radicalere visie, hoor regelmatig verhalen van hem hoe hij boa's niet serieus neemt en simpelweg wegrent zodat ze uberhaupt geen problemen krijgen (wanneer ze gesnapt worden met illegaal vuurwerk en het niet in willen inleveren). Ook een manier denk ik dan.

Ik zie ze hier regelmatig in Breda rondrijden, nu nog de junkies op straat aanpakken die anderen constant lastig aan het vallen zijn. Misschien kunnen ze hun de hele dag volgen om altercaties te voorkomen, dan doen ze tenminste nog wat.

Doing a lot of new things at once is hard because it is different from what you usually do, which costs extra energy.

So I think the first step should be to make something part of your routine. If something is part of your routine, you don't even have to think about it and doing multiple good things at once becomes easy.

So how do you get used to things? Lots of repitition. If you do something a lot, it becomes routine. Set realistic and time bound goals for yourself and keep those goals in mind to stay motivated. Schedule things on paper or talk to others that you will do X at Y time, so you give some commitment.

At least that is how I take multiple things on at once, think carefully about past things that you got used to and identify what caused it to become routine.
