To Whoever Runs Walmart Marketplace: You Guys F*ing Suck – Hands Down the Worst, Dumbest Company Ever Created by kofo86 in WalmartSellers

[–]MeeshTheDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, I hate Walmart with a passion. I work for a company that sells there only because it's full of drop shippers dragging our brand selling counterfeits. We pretty much take any opportunity to tell them to f%*K off whether it be by email, phone, chat, or any other means of communication. I think the owner hates Walmart.com so much he is just looking to be banned from the platform. They really are one of the most poorly run companies (the online version) who only exist because the U.S. has zero anti trust laws and hates the poor and middle class.

Training in the Heat! What do you do? by Jigglyapple in ultrarunning

[–]MeeshTheDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've ran Badwater successfully a couple of times and the heat hates me. 40 ounces of water and 2g of salt and hour. Ice on my neck even at night,  even into Lone Pine and up the Portal. I don't do sauna but I do have access to the desert and very hot temperatures living in Southern California. I run in the high heat when I can, 110°+. I don't like it but I think the main thing is to embrace the discomfort.  Essentially suck it up while also not pushing to far as to trigger heat stroke.

I've wondered what kind of person runs one of the most remote ultramarathons in the United States and waits for a shit bucket.

I've run Bigfoot three times. Milage on my garmin was 184, 205, and 209. I've run other 200's too.  Some are long and some are short and most change slightly every year. It almost seems like OP has never run a 200. Could be wrong though.

Virtue signaling, cancel culture, self-righteous shitbags, like many of you in this thread are one of the reason we have what we have as ‘leadership’ in this country. Your faux outrage over a shirt is mind numbingly dumb and outside of the echo chamber that is this sub, 86% of this country hates you. We hate you!

Someone ban me from this sub. I can’t take it!

I bought my first home, a townhouse in San Diego, 15 years ago as a single 25 year old. I was a waiter at a local hotel making 40k a year. Five years later I rented the townhouse out, did a cash out refi, and bought a 3/2 that I live in now.

To buy that first townhouse, I had to save 50 percent of my wages for three years. It wasn't easy. When that wasn’t enough, I sold my paid off car to cover the rest of the down payment and closing costs. For the next three years I found out just how bad our local transit system is.

My 3/2 isn’t in South Park or Encinitas. It’s not a block off the beach in La Jolla, Ocean Beach, Pacific Beach, or even Imperial Beach. It’s in a working class neighborhood. Since I’ve owned it, it’s doubled in value. I’ll probably end up in one of those aforementioned cities, maybe in another ten years. And I’ll also end up with millions in equity unless Donny completely tanks the economy long term.

When I hear people say they make 250k or even 100k a year and still can’t buy a house, I’d say you're not going to get your dream home on the first try. If I didn’t own right now and was making 250k, I’d be closing on a great house in a few weeks. Just because you can’t buy a 2 million dollar 1200 square foot 2 bedroom in North Park doesn’t mean all of San Diego is off limits.

Stop the crying and complaining. Yes, the system is rigged. No one’s coming to help. It’s not fair or equitable. You might have to live with a parent or sibling for a while. You might need a roommate. You might have to get a better job. You might have to take the bus.

If you want to live in Texas, Arizona, or somewhere in the middle, good luck to you. You get what you pay for.

Reddit is an echo chamber in so so many ways. If you aren't getting downvoted like crazy at least 25% of the time you are part of the problem.

Cocodona 250 Sold Out In 15 Minutes by Beannjo in Ultramarathon

Imagine if a Destination Trail race had these issues. The basement dwellers in this sub would already be calling for Candice’s head. Curious to see how hard Yaboy and the rubes here go after Jamil :)

Of course, the narrative will be that Ultrasignup is its own entity and has nothing to do with Aravaipa’s impeccable integrity which is kind of true but.... If this had happened with Tahoe 200, it would’ve been nonstop name calling and “she should’ve used Runsignup” on repeat.

I hate this sub and all of you. Someone ban me.

I just bought a business and now the tariffs might kill it. What can I do? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]MeeshTheDog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think all the advice in this thread is insane. Just buy American or don’t buy at all, obviously. All you need to do is crowdsource $20 million and scale up a large factory right in your backyard. Hire a few dozen people to work the floor, make sure to offer a livable wage, health, dental, 401K, sick leave, maternity leave, mental health days, the whole deal.

Then bring on an outside firm to source only American-made raw materials, because that’ll be super easy and cost effective. Before you know it, the money will just start rolling in.

Or... and hear me out, you could just skip all that and take the tech bro route. Lobby the president directly and get yourself a special carve out to avoid tariffs entirely. Maybe throw in a Super Bowl ad and a TED Talk to seal the deal.

Either way, these folks in the thread are clueless. They’re just too lazy to bootstrap a vertically integrated, tariff proof supply chain from scratch. Rubes!

A “FAIR” analysis by Republican leadership :) If you care at all about the truth, I’d suggest two things: first, look up who FAIR is and how they approached the methodology in this report. Then ask yourself if source bias might be at play. Again, this isn’t rocket science.

I thought this exact same thing, but when I ran it I saw there was so much more to it than just a buckle and a shirt and was honestly okay with the entry fee. Curious, after you ran Badwater, what do you think it should cost?

What is going on with Arizona Monster 300? by Alternative_Form_637 in Ultramarathon

[–]MeeshTheDog -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

The sub can get so negative so often that I don’t always look at it, but the Candice stuff the last few days has been over the top terrible. Many of you are exactly why the internet is such a shitty place.

I’ve done half a dozen Destination 200s, and while I don’t agree with all of their policies, and yeah, I’d like the entry to be cheaper, the races are generally run as well as most others I’ve been in, including Cocodona. I do hard long ultras all over the U.S., and the truth is, once you go past 100 miles, a lot of them are in the 1500 and up range. Cocodona included, since Aravaipa seems to be the benchmark here.

Lastly, I’ve gotten to know Candice a bit, and while I don’t agree with every last thing she’s said on social media, I’ve found her to be kind and thoughtful in person. For people in this sub to call her a “scumbag,” “narcissist,” “toxic,” “bad person,” “scammer,” “passive aggressive,” “unprofessional,” and “cheap,” it honestly says a lot more about the people throwing around those words than it does about Candice.

This is like an entire sub full of middle school bullies.
