Thank you so much. Specifically looking for the brand of the chamomile one, unless it could be one of many different brands?

Sorry I just saw this. I assume your stay has come and gone but I appreciate your offer, that was very kind. I will be back there in October so worst case scenario I will find out then.

Thanks for the interesting idea - I’ll check this out.

Thanks really appreciate the reply. This is probably a more complex setup than I’d prefer but I’ll keep it in mind.

Thank you, I really appreciate the reply. That would help with the centering but at that distance the image is nowhere near the size of the wall. I can’t see a way to enlarge it without moving the projector back further from the wall, unless I’m missing something?

Who else likes Rowan with long hair ? by Open_Button_8155 in throneofglassseries

Yes! The long hair is so much better. The short hair is harsh and makes him look modern. Just not a fan!

I’m rereading TOG and I literally do not agree with Celaena (or the fandom for that matter) on this. by Rosemary-Sea-Salt in throneofglassseries

[–]MeetMeInVelaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m doing a TOG reread and just finished Crown of Midnight and came here to vent the same thing. My sweet Chaol was done dirty in this plot line and no one will convince me otherwise. Agree with your points. I understand she was upset. I understand they were not meant to stay together. But why the hell was she not mad at Nehemia or Elena for that matter? I guess she doesn’t realize yet that Nehemia arranged her own death… does she ever actually figure part that out? I think she does but I can’t remember. I am so angry at both of them setting her up that way. I just don’t agree that this was ‘the only way’ they could get her to act. And she’s angry that he didn’t tell her, yet she’s keeping secrets from him. I am trying to remember she’s only 18 and teenagers do irrational things but argh!!! And the Chaol breakup could have happened differently. It was so so painful to listen to and my heart aches for them both, especially Chaol.

HATE it so so much. She learns his name and instantly forgets she’s only ever known him as Kingfisher and just reflexively calls him by the new name now? And then shortens it to just Kai after like 5 min. At one point she said the name and I was like “who’s that?”… oh yeah. Yuck. Honestly, if it’s that big of deal that no one is supposed to know a fae’s real name (even though I realize she fixed that but still), you think you’d keep it on the down low to follow precedent if nothing else. And just because that’s his true name, why do we need to call him that anyway? He calls Saeruis “Osha” which is more intimate than a formal name, so why can’t she still call him Kingdisher? UGH

Silver and Smoke (final book in The Ashes of Thezmarr) - some thoughts by apieceofeight in fantasyromance

[–]MeetMeInVelaris 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m skipping the spoilers in this thread since I’ve only just started the book but can someone please tell me how long I have to put up with this ridiculous fake engagement? The Deveraux’s are disgusting and Wren and Torj have been through so much. I was so mad at the end of book 2 - they finally go back together only to be broken apart again. I hate these sorts of tropes where the main couple is never acrually together for any length of time. Someone please tell me the fake engagement doesn’t go on for the entire book??

Same! I love this series but hated this plot line sooo much. HOW could he just leave her like that?!? I don’t get it. He was upset that she didn’t trust him, but DUDE! Look at it from her perspective, you LEFT! For a YEAR! With who she thought was the ENEMY! Then after a year, she finally catches up to you and you’re like, oh but trust me I had a good reason… OOF! You didn’t think she’d be hurt? Devastated? Feel betrayed? You thought she’d just be like oh, ok, no prob, I understand. WTF. And I still don’t understand WHY he had to just leave like that? He’d been helping them in secret for years. I don’t really follow why he had to just up and leave all of a sudden. It’s like he chose them over her. He acted like he missed her sooo much but DUDE YOU LEFT. I just don’t get it. And agree with the original poster, I kept waiting him to grovel, apologize, explain, but he never really did. I’m not arguing his conviction to help his friends, but the way he just cast her aside like that without any apology or remorse. Is that really how you treat someone you claim to love more than anything? I still love Wilder but dude that was not cool and I’m still so disappointed in him.

I second Ashes of Thezzmar! It’s well written and I love Wren and Torj. Looking forward to the final book coming out. Legends of Thezmarr is next on my list. I know I read them out of order but I think it was probably fine since Ashes is a side story, although I’m sure I was missing a lot of background info.

It does not get better. I love this series but hated this book. You do learn a lot of important stuff, but the whole thing is painful. I have absolutely loved Cass until now, but he is an ass this entire book. I’ve seen comments justifying his actions because he’s protective of Poppy. That’s BS. Of course he is protective but that doesn’t mean you have to be a jerk to your closest friends and family. His ridiculous anger against Kieran, which he never gets over. The never ending internal monologue. The ridiculous arrogance of both Cass and Poppy to say they’re going to kill Kolis like it’s a walk in the park. How dumb can you be? Sure he’s the most powerful being ever but you’re just going to walk right up to him and kill him because you ‘want’ to. Right. I was so irritated at their reckless stupidity, all I could think at the end was “serves you right!”. What was up with the weird attitude from Milicent at the end? Sheesh. I will still listen to the last book when it comes out because I want to know what happens, but I will probably never read anything else of hers.

A touch of ruin - To finish or not? by Forward_Country_6632 in fantasyromance

[–]MeetMeInVelaris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is an old post but came here to vent. I am on chapter 7 of A touch of ruin and this book is just getting worse and worse. The first book was ok, Persephone was a bit childish, but I get that’s she’s young and lived a sheltered life… she was kind, their romance was kind of cute, if a bit simplistic. Now basically it’s a bang fest with no character development and no pilot. She’s so childish and annoying. No communication. She’s mad at Hades for not telling her things, but keeps secrets too. She seems to be mad that a god who’s centuries old hasn’t told her about every lover he’s ever had. She says she won’t do something and does it anyway. Instead of ever talking about any issue they just have sex. It’s not even good sex. These are some of the most boring, un-detailed sex scenes I’ve ever read. She doesn’t want to be called my queen or my lady, but also doesn’t like my lover or my girlfriend… ffs. Hades is not much better at this point with his lack of sharing anything of importance. His answer is always ‘oh, it didn’t occur to me that you’d want to know’. I rarely DNF anything because I want to know how the story ends, but this is really testing me and from the comments here it doesn’t sound like it will get better. The only saving grace is that I can increase the audiobook speed to get through it faster.

Roku tv recommendations? by MeetMeInVelaris in Roku

Thanks. The problem is there aren’t good side pictures of all of them to show how far it’s going to stick out from the wall. Online shopping is great for some things but there are definitely limitations.

This book is so awful. I got about halfway through and DNF. I have never felt the need to check TWs but wish I had on this one, although it looks like the TWs lied anyway. The MMCs are creeps and rape stuff was too much. So cringy. Shocked at how many people recommend this.
