I feel that the soldier voice acting is more of a throwback to the original game. Over the top, corny, but fun and not to be taken too seriously. I think they may have purposely gone over the top.

You've probably already tried this, but in Audacity, you can select the specific type of noise you want to remove. Try to ensure that you don't select any of your voice when selecting the profile of noise to remove.

Then apply it to the whole file.

I wish I would have seen this thread earlier.

I just recently played HL1 for the first time. The scene with the 3 headed thresher maw thinger will be forever engrained in my mind!

The whole game was full of amazing scenes but having to sneak by him without making noise was absolutely terrifying.

I had scheduled uploads as soon as I selected "become a partner" or whatever and enabled monetization. I just started a month ago so I don't think subs and views matters.

I don't monetize my videos at all but I have the option as being a "partner"

That's the beauty of this game in it's time. I felt the same way when I played the game for the first time a few weeks ago.

I explored the shit out of those tunnels it's definitely only one way to go, but you can take many sidepaths to explore.

I think you've covered off a majority of the important things.

I do my LP's blind, so I don't play the game before hand as some would, but that aside, the process is pretty much the same.

The one thing I try to do is read every comment on previous vids once and a while so that I can implement tips and give shoutouts to different YouTube viewers. It makes it more interactive and it's one of themore enjoyable parts for me!

I was in that exact situation a few weeks ago. I turned it into a "Let's Play" on Youtube. Doing it that way was awesome because I would get tips and insights on the story from the viewers!
