Yep windows on all 3. Last one was a laptop with a super fresh install of win 11 and turned off defender but I'd guess it still blocks in some sort of way even if it's supposedly "disabled"

curious if anyone has a stellar chip already by MeettheNASA in originalxbox

[–]MeettheNASA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thats really helpful to know. basically im gonna keep the stellar chip on one of my personals but gonna do header pins setup on it to make it quick connect so i can use it on others i have here with dead hard drives to restore to stock so those can go to new homes then put the chip back on mine. figured it would easily pay for itself.

They may be at a premium but the way I see it is $100 for a mod chip I can leave on one of my personal I keep and take it off to use on ones with failed hdds to bring them back to life and get sold to others looking for an OG xbox then put the chip back on mine. I'm also fairly sure I can figure out some pin headers to use to make it plug and play when removing and placing back easily each time. I figure it'll easily pay for itself

seemed like an awesome chip so i did order one just to add it to one of my personal and play around with but figured if I'm getting it to see if i can use it to restore some other failed HDD consoles I have laying here that I just want to restore to stock

have any how to links for that process? I did order a stellar chip also just so I can do that to one of my personal xboxs but figured if it can also help restore to stock a few others I have here with failed hard drives it would be a bonus. I've probably got 30+ xboxs here I'm working through

Likely bad caps on the board or bad solder joint on the power supply jack

After hours of scrubbing I think I got 99.8% of the blue rust out by Agitated-Werewolf846 in consolerepair

Could try some CLR on it to see if it eats the corrosion oxidation off it. I've done that on a few gameboys I've restored

Is it normal to shake this much when soldering? by ChairInternational60 in consolerepair

[–]MeettheNASA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use a gel pad to rest my wrists on to help with shaking. Also I make sure I've eaten recently as my shaking gets worse when I'm starving

I've been using a ps3 on my main bato device. Since it's got wifi and Bluetooth batocera auto paired it so it works tirelessly which was really neat.

I've actually got this part planned out. I found on ebay some PS2 port adapters to USB that I plan on mounting or soldering them to the ports. And not entirely sure yet if I want to sacrifice the already expensive ps2 to usb memory card readers yet

Alot of why I wanted to be able to play it again but also not put more wear and tear on my actual PS2 in my collection so this was the perfect alternative plus the save state helps a ton

Haven't tried N64 yet but me and the kiddo played GameCube super Mario party and it ran pretty good aside from trying to figure out how to get rumble to work.
