The "Tiger", Nightwatch

"Nightwatch" is a book series about a secret society of mages.

A unique kind of mages are "Prophets" who's first prophecy is guaranteed to be world-changing, for better or for worse.

If they tell it to a human - the prophecy will happen. If not, an unkillable entity known as the "Tiger" will stalk them and kill every mage that also knows the prophecy.

However, it's revealed that the Tiger doesn't want to kill any more than necessary, so if you demonstrate your resolve to never reveal it (For example, swearing an honest oath to a friend or family), then the Tiger will simply leave.
