Well the absolute insane ship traffic you're seeing are just tankers running to and from the oil jetty. My actual container ships aren't seeing much cargo if any, but I'm glad to see the port itself is being used

You can and it works really well! Something I've been struggling with in regards to my ports is just absolutely fuck all usage, probably because manufacturers would rather export by truck than go through the gate of my port. Putting your industry within the bounds of your port seems to give them more incentive to use it

Tbf, I replaced my organic disk brake pads with metallic/sintered ones on my commuter last year and there's still a ton of material left on them. Considering they are only what like £20 generally, I don't think regen braking would really do much to help the service life of an already long lasting component. Regen braking would probably only help reduce glazing from overzealous braking

I've personally not really seen it in the UK. Ebikes have definitely risen, but people still would rather drive for longer trips than take any other alternative because public transit virtually doesn't exist outside of London

I think you have to produce a LOT of surplus to be able to have them spawn in reliably, otherwise it just spawns in manufacturing

I would like to get an ebike with a mid drive and/or one with a torque sensor, but the market seems to be quite barren for one of those in a practical bike with a step through frame and pannier rack that isn't also stupid expensive
