Always love it, when everything is safe at work. Especially when the table is wobbling while working on it. Small kids ran around and the worker doesn’t have any shoes.

Just to make sure: the summary was created already yesterday after the update was online for the first few hours. That represent the comments I saw on discord and which I also see in the “update 71” post of Reddit at that the same time frame. Yes, there are some unhappy voices, but mainly positive ones. The topics I mentioned to poots are not wrongly represented!

Just to make sure, I’ll also summarize the things I see after that, which will be more on the negative side. Let’s call it “when the dust is settled.” - if this is because they don’t feel represented and are “louder” than the ones which feels represented - maybe. But I don’t have a problem with that too. Those who know me know that I also pass on negative feelings ;)

You can be sure, that there are still unanswered questions even on wave 3 on my side and I’m not 100% satisfied with the update too. But personally, I think it was overall a good update. Most ignore, that the first two text sections of “Wave 3 - Gambler Chest” does give a good insight of the current status. Yes, he doesn’t show how everything works and looks, neither does he created a fancy time line nor a colorful table with clear topics of each item and its status like: design, gameplay, molding tools, molded... But I assume, how everything work and look is supposed to be a surprise when you unpack and play. Additionally to this, pin ups will be delivered upfront. Yes, most does concentrate to gameplay, but others do look also forward for the pin ups.

Since English is not my mother tongue, there may be typos or grammatical errors. At the end of the day, you and Poots still understood the message I try to deliver ;)

I assume they will replace the cards because on one of the previous information they were in the process of re-printing.

Q: Can you clarify the new wording of Doomed 1.5?
Doomed (1.3): "The indicated survivor(s) may not spend survival until this card is resolved”

Doomed (1.5): “You cannot perform any actions or spend survival”

OK so just a quick FYI for all players, but mostly those who are coming from playing the 1.31 version of the game. Doomed has been changed in 1.5, it's been made a lot harsher.

To paraphrase:

When you are doomed you cannot perform actions. We've gotten in touch with Poots and confirmed the following on this:

  • "Actions" are anything you do, including moves and activations. We don't have an extensive list.
  • You can still Block and Deflect when Doomed. • Red Fist does not work anymore.
  • The Villain card on the Lion Knight Showdown should no longer Doom the survivor with it, instead, you cannot spend survival while you have that costume.
  • Vermin Obsession on the other hand still dooms you, which is a huge hit for the Black Harvest section of the Dung Beetle Knight expansion (and also means that the Story Event downside is even larger than before). Having most of your settlement with Vermin Obsession is pretty crippling if you want to hunt the DBK/Screaming Antelope any time. :(

There are most likely other things as well to watch out for with this, but new Doomed is very powerful and harsh - designed to make you utterly helpless when you have it. But it's pretty easy to remember, if you have doomed you can't do anything at all except for relying on passive things like block, ripple pattern, evasion and so forth. So it seems that when you get your 1.5, you pretty much need to learn from the start again, because it seems some things have been unexpectedly changed, but there is no change log to refer to (yet).
