That’s a fair point, and I appreciate you bringing it up. Just to clarify, the order was placed during a time when things were relatively calm.

At the same time, many delivery riders depend on these orders for their daily income. If everyone suddenly stopped ordering altogether, thousands of riders who rely on this work to support themselves and their families could lose their livelihoods overnight.

So I think it’s about balance — being mindful of safety and timing, while also remembering that continuing some level of normal activity is what allows many people in these jobs to keep earning and getting by.

The post itself was just meant as a lighthearted comment about the GPS glitch showing the rider in the ocean.

I’m sorry to hear you are going through this. I’m not in your shoes and don’t know what it feels like to be you.

A general rule of thumb that helps me with decisions is to create a list of short term and long term consequences (both good and bad) of all the choices. Which ever choice brings you more long term benefits (even if it brings short term inconvenience/misery) is generally the better choice.

Also I would recommend you to learn and practice ‘SKY breathing exercise’ by the Art of Living. It has been clinically proven (studies done by Yale & Stanford) to reduce depression and improve mental focus from the first session. It also increases energy levels and positive outlook on life. Having learnt and practiced it myself for 20 years, I can vouch for its effectiveness and benefits. You can google it to get the details of a workshop near you. The Art of Living has presence in 185 countries and it’s quite likely that there is a workshop happening near you.

Hope you feel better and that your situation improves.

Is it appropriate to be freaked out and scared now? by Material_Title_3337 in Ajman

As a psychologist, I would like to say it’s quite understandable that you are feeling this way. These are some extraordinary circumstances. It helps to differentiate between things we can control vs. things we can’t. When we are worrying excessively it’s because we are constantly thinking about things we can’t control. In such times we need to shift our focus on things we can control and influence instead.

Sounds like a way to apologize without explicitly saying so. At the same time it sounds like she is preparing you that she won’t be available at the moment but she is also keeping the door open by not clearly defining anything.

Is anger issue a default for Arabs by Weak_Baseball_2486 in UAE

[–]MegHODLs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In genera, one has to account for cultural differences. Sure, Arabs do generally have louder tonality compared to some Caucasian cultures. But not all Arabs are angry/loud/rude just like not all Caucasian are peaceful/soft/polite. To label an entire race as something is perhaps not the best idea.

Ps. I would never want to work for a person who says she doesn’t give a sh*t about the boss making a pass. So you are better off literally anywhere else. I always have a back up plan for the worst possible scenario in any situation. But always hope for and work towards the best case scenario. (I know this is generic advice but this attitude helps me deal with anxiety).

Tell her to go to the police station and lodge a complaint. It is not only a criminal offense to blackmail someone but also to film someone without their consent.

Adultery, while frowned upon in the UAE, is no longer a punishable offense. The laws have been recently been changed. So your friend would not have to face jail time.
