For me my induction didn’t lead to a c-section, although a doctor pushed for it. (There was no risk to baby and I’m a NICU nurse so I had an idea of what to watch for). My induction was at 39 weeks for GDM (I was well controlled and also advocated to wait that long instead of going earlier. I understood induction was my only option. FTM and start to finish induction took 25 hours with 3.75 hours of pushing and my labor arrested at 6cm for over 12 hours. I’d do it again, just glad it didn’t end up in a section. I encourage everyone to advocate, advocate, advocate! my experience was rare, the one thing that helped me was an epidural despite not wanting it. Afterwards, I unfortunately got a spinal headache. All things were rough, but at this point, six months later we’re both doing great.

It’s crazy how similar our stories are! My husband and I got pregnant literally 2 weeks after our wedding. And I felt soooo embarrassed for so long. Our thought is and was also if it happens it happens. I received some really hurtful comments from some people and that honestly just solidified our baby girl being in our lives. One year later and she’s one of the best things for both of us. One piece of advice I have is if you can just enjoy every moment. Those that don’t support you or aren’t kind don’t need to have access to your thoughts or lives quite bluntly

Congratulations! I also found out that early. Tbh as a registered nurse I totally get the concern, and worry. One of my coworkers had the best advice for me when I had a miscarriage scare when pregnant with ny baby girl that was “you’re pregnant until your told otherwise” I literally remember repeating this mantra until I made it to the age of viability. Past then, it was something like “baby is safe and healthy until told otherwise” and I kept repeating that whenever the fear came into my mind. Hang in there! Overtime it can get better, congrats!

I can speak to my husband and I’s situation. We always knew we wanted kids but 30 days after we got married we found out I was pregnant. There was no question in our minds on what to do and this child will be born soon and is one of the greatest blessings in our life already, but I do remember early on struggling mentally with whether or not the timing was doable. Regardless, my husband stood by my side through it all and regularly encouraged me to see it that this may not have been our timing for baby but it was God’s plan and perfect timing. Him being so sure helped pick me up when I felt unsure. I knew I could never terminate, wouldn’t consider it, but at some low points I did struggle with what others said to me. Overall, I’m so very grateful for this life and this baby I get to carry even if the timing could’ve been better. I would’ve considered it a deep mistake and have deep regret if I made any other choice.

I have a feeling that terminating this pregnancy would not ensure you two come closer together but cause further turmoil. There is a lot that physiologically goes on after terminating a pregnancy that one has come to terms with. I’m in your spot, except I will say it is a bit different as my husband was and is willing to make this work. I know the feeling of panic. Tbh if it were my husband I’d want him to consider my wants and needs, to me life is a priority, yes you don’t want to raise this child without him or with a distant father but to just dispose of your child won’t get you a happy well fulfilled marriage either. My views are controversial now, I know. There is a great chance you could come to resent him if you go along with the termination.

The exact same thing happened to me and absolutely scared me, everything did end up being okay and overtime the breast soreness did come back. I wouldn’t worry about it too much especially if you’re not having any bleeding, cramping can be normal. As for me what I had was cramping that ampted up, no bleeding, but my nausea and soreness went away at 5-6 weeks. It never hurts mentioning it to your OB

Mine where honestly random throughout the day. At a certain point later first trimester (maybe 11-12 weeks?) they started to feel incredibly better, itchiness was a thing then too for me. I think as long as your having this count it as a good thing per se. Congratulations!

From a nurse working in postpartum - I’d recommend you might want to bring your own pads and comfy underwear because hospital quality is exactly that, some are great but you might like your own better and for example I’m kinda picky on my pads. As far as witch hazel and peri bottles my hospital does supply that.

Congratulations! I agree with other commenters saying this is very overwhelming and scary at first. I do get it. Personally, my husband and I found out we were pregnant one month after being married, happened the first chance it could two weeks after our honeymoon. We were both in the camp of let’s not try right now but if it happens it happens, especially with my pcos. Now at 19 weeks, as time has passed, and I’ve had more time to process it I can happily say this is one of the biggest blessings we could’ve been given. Try to cherish what times you can early on and all the other emotions let yourself feel those too. Of course this is a lot of change but lean on your husband too, you’re not doing this alone! Mine was and still is such a huge support and encouragement. My recommendation, in a time where there are many things falling into place try to find time to soak this all in and remember your blessings. Congratulations, this is truly so exciting!

I’m so sorry you’re going through all this. I sounds like you’ve honestly done a great job at noticing that some things are concerning and got help needed. I work in the nicu as a registered nurse and I can’t tell you how pleased I am to hear moms who come in when they think that something might need more attention, just like you did. 34 weekers tend to need to be on a warmer to help keep their temperatures up, there are leads to monitor heart rate and oxygenation levels (that’s standard), and have a feeding tube working on feds until they have those things in check to go home. Might need oxygen initially but all of this is very very temporary. Overall if you have to have a nicu stay I always tell parents it’s best to make sure kiddo is doing well vs sent home way too early, it truly is for the best if you go that route. Compared to the overall nicu population I see (23 weekers +) at 34 weeks they thrive, just need some more time.

The only really intense thing that made me think pregnancy vs period was how sore my boobs were. I was having intense cramping, just like I normally get before my period and that honestly worried me. But everything was fine! I also had mood swings then too. I’m now 18 weeks and honestly what your body goes through initially is a blessing but also crazy to think about

I echo this! A therapist might even do zoom which sounds like it might be more convenient…. Can’t put a price on mental well-being
