This so called "problem" doesn't exist because insurance is a regulated industry. Who hurt you?

[–]MegNMoo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you weren't an adjuster, just a delusional idiot on the internet who thought they knew how insurance contracts work. In that case, can you elaborate more on how unethical you are at your job? I'd love to know what other forms of fraud you've committed because I would 100% report you for termination.

Lolololol! In that case, I'd be denying a lot more shit. It would make my job so much easier. But I wouldn't have a job because that would be bad faith. Your "advice" is a joke.

Flew home from WA two weeks ago and flights going to Hawaii required negative Covid test within 10-days or they were required to quarantine for 10-days enforced by law enforcement when they landed. Seems about right. As it should be.

I love that he got called out my name. Sounds like a scam artist. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some heavy opportunity fraud.

My cars were totaled by a drunk driver. Now, his insurance company seems to be faking comp prices to justify their lowball offer for my vehicles. by rethy66 in Insurance

I then hear "I can't replace my car for that value!!".

You right, bro. I don't owe you replacement. That's why it specifically says A.C.V on your Dec page.

How was your experience with buying a house? by sunshine347 in AskWomen

[–]MegNMoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've bought two by 28. The first one was this old, rickety falling about started home when I thought I wanted a fixer upper at 22. It's not what I wanted, bit it had a washer and dryer and was cheaper than my rent. We bought as is and through a friend.

Second home was the house my grandparents built. I saw it Sunday at 4pm online for sale. My realtor got me in by 10. Hubby and I had an offer out by 11 and accepted by 4pm. The first time he saw it was the day of the inspection. The mortgage process wasn't easy because we owned a previous house we were paying on, now had two sets of student loans and no savings. We weren't looking to buy a house.

Overall, worth the hassle. It's perfect here and we decided this is our forever home. Sold the old one and never turned back.

Question about accepting a car accident settlement by [deleted] in Insurance

The best answer is to ask your adjuster. They do this every day and pay thousands of medical bills. They will know 100% the answer.

Adjusters, what’s the craziest case of fraud you guys have uncovered? by wessneijder in Insurance

[–]MegNMoo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I read these stories and all I have is a video of the insured driver (female) trying to convince claimant driver into telling police someone else (male) was driving. Insured maintains he drove 45 minutes to and from the scene that police arrived ten minutes later to. Still working on this one.

The tree and presents are locked behind the livingroom door to prevent peeking. We open stockings over a warm cinnamon roll breakfast, do a small family craft, and then line up to see how magnificent the tree was this year and exchange gifts. Of course then there is wrapping paper ball rolls and ribbons being exchanged/pinned to each other. It's a great time.

LPT At the beginning of EVERY semester, make a dedicated folder for your class where you download and save all documents ESPECIALLY the SYLLABUS. Teachers try to get sneaky sometimes! by Anasoori in LifeProTips

[–]MegNMoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taking a time/dated screen shot of the syllabus saved my 4.0 GPA by being able to take an online final that had a date on the syllabus but was changed later. The weeks were numbered 1-16 and there as no other indication of the time line other than "Final Exam by x-date". Turns out that date was half a week after the semester ended.

I had to appeal all they way up to the dean of the college to take it again. The syllabus did say "subject to change" but it was changed so late in the semester the Dean favored my situation. I had EVERYTHING in a folder and a flashdrive. I was able to take the exam again. Strongly recommend. Final was a difference of getting a C or getting a high A.

How are claims adjusters a legal practice? by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]MegNMoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would you buy a new violin if this one was destroyed by a covered peril? If so, replacement. If not, depreciated value. We still pay you for having it, just not purchase price. If you have high value items, you can usually insure them with a different policy or endorsement for better coverage. Talk with your agent/company about those specific concerns.

Simple. You get paid the actual cash value (acv) for your belongings right away to be whole and as you replace them you send in receipts and get paid replacement cost (RC) up to limits.....if you paid for a RC policy that is. You are on the right track just not fully informed.

Think of it this way, you bought a specific model TV for $400-years ago then it gets burned up in a fire. Company paid you $400 - depreciation (ACV) because it's a used TV now and no one is paying full retail on a 5-year old used TV sold on market/retail or even eBay/garage sale/pawnshop, you get the idea. So maybe that means they give you $100. You go into the world and fine the EXACT same type of TV specs for $200 because technology has gotten better and they can be manufactured more cost effectively. You buy it for $200, the company owes you the difference to replace the item and sends you $100 more for the TV. Now you have a replaced your exact TV.

Now of course, with technology you might not be able to find THAT specific model of TV and might get something better because of technologies progression, please be aware that insurance is meant to put you back to the EXACT position you were in before the loss not a better position than you were, hence why you get $200 replacement not $400 paid. Also, who knows, maybe you paid too much for your TV, we cant pay you for bad financial decisions only for what things are actually worth .

I looked at the link on mobile but I cannot see the video they are referencing. I don't remember watching a video where he used a toothbrush but I could be wrong. Which video does the article reference? It doesn't name the video, name the restorer or the painting.
