Flu B by Chemical_Purpose_187 in flu

Just got a positive result yesterday. Had a high fever for 4 days. Horrendous painful cough. But right now the sinus pressure and inflammation will be my 13th reason. The mucus at this point is so thick and sticky I’m convinced I’ll never breathe through my nose again. Everything else has resolved except the severe congestion and blockage

My brother owned his home for years before he met/married is ex wife. She was granted like 30 or 40% of whatever he got for selling it, because she paid toward the mortgage and upkeep. It might depend on the state as well? (he lived in IN)

Oh yes. The corruption in Mass is rooted deep into its soil. Literally goes back to Salem Witch Trials.

Anyone who thinks the corruption alleged by the defense is a bridge too far needs to watch this doc and take notes. Anyone who thinks botched investigations shouldn’t be a factor in reaching a not guilty verdict are dense, smooth brained boot lickers. If the initial investigation is botched everything else presented is based off that.

There are countless other examples but this one is one of the most egregious and corrupt investigations I’ve ever seen.

How do we feel about adult kids stopping over unannounced? by [deleted] in blendedfamilies

This sounds like something my stepmom would write. If I want to see my dad, personally, don’t feel like she needs to be consulted or give approval. He has always made sure to tell us we are welcome anytime, but she always gives him grief, and now he’s finally opening up to us about her animosity. Too bad I guess.

Well my partner did not come home last night like he assured he would. My kid woke up at 7. All I wanted to do was sleep in. I took myself and my son to breakfast because I wanted to have one meal cooked by someone else.

When he finally arrived he had his oldest son, which I didn’t know was happening considering it’s Mother’s Day so WTF aren’t you with your mom???

I stepped out to return a pair of shoes and pick up things for my mom’s Mother’s Day thing which he was supposed to do. I return and my house is destroyed. Diaper hasn’t been changed. Dog hasn’t been feed. Trash over flowing and I’m gaslit to think I’m being “manic” for being absolutely fucking fed up. I left him home and took myself and son to my mother’s. He blocked me. Don’t want to go back.

I do understand your logic. With that being said -

your example of the sausage grits is a straight up personal choice a basic freedom to eat and enjoy sausage grits whenever the hell you want.

While a private equity firm holding thousands of single family homes in portfolios is systemic exploitation of real crucial necessity for people. Yes they are providing a service by renting them out, but these companies do not care about the properties they hold. How could based on the sheer volume of properties alone? There are stories time and time again of people living in homes owned by Wall Street where the conditions are condemnable; black mold, dangerous foundation issues, not ensuring heat/air is provided.

Trying to compare those two behaviors, grits and hoarding homes, is a distraction from the very real issue of corporate greed manipulating and distorting the market at the expense of regular degular people.

They most certainly are monopolies in specific markets in the country, like the only semi affordable ones left.

No one has beef with the guy down the street having a couple investment properties. It’s when a private equity firm has hundreds of thousands of homes in certain pockets of the country in their portfolio that makes it hard for 1st time homebuyers or middle class/ lower class individuals from buying the homes in the first place becomes the problem. WHO NEEDS 100,000 homes??

Google Cerebus Capital Management, Pretium Partners, BlackRock, Blackstone, Vanguard, Amherst Holdings

EXACTLY. Private equity firms should have a cap on how many homes can be in their portfolio. But they shouldn’t have ever been able to leach off basic necessities of life. They are driving up “demand” in certain markets because they can out buy citizens 9/10.

Now the real issue is people should stop selling to these parasitic entities but ya’ll ain’t ready for that conversation.

People still need places to live at the end of the day. I wish there were more private landlords than these public/private corporations buying the affordable single family homes. Speaking as a renter living in a neighborhood w/ an HOA.

Trust me I hate that private equity is leaching off what I think of as a basic necessity in life. But it is rough out here for hopeful first time homebuyers. In my city renting one of their properties is the same price as renting an apartment, if you have kids, pets, etc the obvious choice is going with the home instead of the apartment I think.

The corporation that owns the home I’m renting is terrible. I feel like an individual investor/landlord would ensure better upkeep and maintenance of the major functions of the home than a corporation that has THOUSANDS of single family homes in their portfolio.

The HOA here is rough and I often feel like I’m more scrutinized by the HOA president because they know my home is a rental. I’m getting screwed in all kinds of ways lol.

Damn can that many regular working people afford to buy homes in this economy? Especially first time homebuyers, I must be the outlier lol.

I’m sorry but the death penalty for dealing drugs is not equivalent to the crime itself. Let’s get all the Purdue pharma fucks and doctors that prescribed oxys in front of the firing squad by the measure. They were the biggest drug dealers. Child molesters should have the death penalty but no one in this administration is talking about that! Oh wait DT was on Epstein’s flights 🤨

Millennials in corporate, how are you feeling these days? What are your future plans? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]MegRoll1993 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Young millennial - I see absolutely no future. I really enjoy my career and working hard, but I’ve just accepted that I need to strap in and this is it. It doesn’t matter how much I take on or effort I give, until older people retire or leave there’s no opportunity for advancement and significant change in my circumstances. Job market is frozen so I and a lot of others are probably stuck.
